I need to move to Seattle!

I learned recently to not be surprised when the government rolls out another big program. I've learned not to be angry or confused or sad, but to laugh. Because expecting something to act against its nature, and then being genuinely surprised when it does what it has always done, is the behavior of an insane person. That being said, this has to be the funniest thing I've heard in a week.

So you might recall that Seattle elected an actual socialist to the city council. Like legitimate stands behind the red flag socialist. Well I like to keep tabs on what's happening on the other side of the philosophical world to see what they're up to and, lo' and behold, she is deciding to get free Wifi installed in all of the homeless campus of Seattle! This is so insane it blows my mind.

The details are the best part. Breezing through the quick joke of Internet access bring a human right, going through the few articles reveals that the local news crew decided to ask the homeless if they thought it was a good idea. You can ask anyone who doesn't understand economics, which is most everyone, if they want free stuff and I assure you they'll answer in the affirmative. Let alone people who are in a position of economic ruin what they need to get out of it. Ask someone who knows how to get OUT of poverty what the homeless need.

Another juicy part is that they won't tell anyone how much this proposal would cost, although the city has dedicated $100,000 to improving the tent cities. This is good on multiple counts. First, they're spending money on improving poverty. Think about that for a second. They want to make poverty MORE appealing. No reduction in taxes or reduction of regulations to remove poverty, just make the people there more comfortable. The second part is that they won't tell anyone the cost. That's really great because honest workers have no idea how much their spending on buying Internet access for other people. Then you have the fact that out of a $100,000 dollar budget, THIS is what comes to the table. They have other Council members concerned about restrooms, OR maybe food and shelter but nope not the socialists.

Anyway here are some links.
