Ask the White House about the coverage....they control the media now, and rule it with an iron grip.
Attkisson knows this all to well. Her unwillingness to go along with the Administration media control is the whole reason she is no longer at CBS, and why she has been a target of NSA hacking and harassment. She is no conservative, to be sure, but she's seen the light on who is running the narrative in this country, and is one of the few willing to expose it.
Anyone thinking the danger has passed on Ebola is fooling themselves. I'm actually surprised the number is as low as 1400 based upon what I've been told by health workers I know. This is the worst kept secret in healthcare and a very serious concern.
I can't decide what the reason is for all the secrecy by the administration outside of obvious economic impact. The risk however doesn't seem worth it once it can no longer be contained....but maybe that's the point.
I subscribe to the online bulletins from the New England Journal of Medicine. One of their recent articles was entitled "Communicating Uncertainty..." <heavily snipped quote> "The challenge, when officials facing uncertainty seek to prevent panic, is that the perception of inadequate understanding by experts is one of several factors known to heighten fear....Yet experts' admissions of uncertainty about Ebola are frequently twisted into the frightening suggestion that our health authorities don't know what they're doing. How can we communicate uncertainty without igniting fear and undermining public trust in health authorities?"
The concept of 'just tell the truth' has been totally lost. We are 'the little people' and 'the stupid people' and the experts try to decide how to tell us what we need to know so that we will behave properly. The problem is - in many respects...these arrogant bastids are correct: Look at Furguson...
Just remember, our government steamrolled the biggest boondoggle in history on top of us just because they "knew" we were stupid. So its no big surprise now is it?
Does anyone really believe anything that comes out of our government anymore? I don't believe a single word out of DC and not much more from our local units of government. None of them tell the truth in it's entirety.
I don't think these are 1400 confirmed infections, but are individuals that were possibly exposed and are/have been monitored for signs that the virus actually infected them. 1400 being monitored for possible infection isn't much of a story. 1400 actual infections would be a story that couldn't be contained.
I am really not buying that there are 1400 active cases of ebola that the CDC is hiding. How would they keep it quiet? How would they keep all of the hundreds of nurses and doctors and other healthcare workers who are taking care of those patients from posting comments on Facebook or other media? If the aforementioned healthcare workers are afraid of personal reprisals if they break silence - it is simple to get anonymous accounts.
And the reported just calls the CDC and asks a question over the phone and the person on the other end replies, "Oh yeah...we have 1400 cases we are hiding from you." It did not happen this way. Wanna bet?
If it were 1 or 2 cases, then they could keep the lid on the info (especially if they transferred the patients to military facilities) but not 1400. I would believe that there are 1400 contacts-with-ebola patients who are under self quarantine and reporting in to the CDC on daily/weekly intervals...maybe I could see that happening under the radar.
I do think that the topic has been removed from the media headlight, but I think that would not work if it were really NEWS.
Comrade citizens, do not fret over any contagion our People's Party sloganed "There is never no government like good government" shall always keep under control.. Always trust superior authority, Chant that 999 times. Know that my dear comrade citizens are not to for stupid ever to panic unless it is in the best interest of your elite betters that you do indeed need to panic. Have a nice day.
