The Atlas/John Galt cards, part 3.5
I put this same image on my previous post on this, but I moved it so that people could see it better.
This project is one to continue to get the word out widely that there ARE movies, that there IS a book that people should see &/or read.
The previous cards were used in many ways - as an introduction at a gun show, as a bookmark in a random book in the library, as "social cards". My favorite way was to put my name and phone number on the card, tell people to read whichever Rand book I thought might be best for them AND if they thought it was a waste of money, to call me and I'd refund it. I never got any calls, and I did about 40 or 50 cards that way.
LetsShrug passed this project to me, so I will design and order the cards and send them out to you as requested.
This is not a free service [remember where you are]. VistaPrint cards are good quality and very very cheap. I'll ask that you reimburse me and pay the postage.
Feel free to send me possible quotes [you may PM if you you like and are able]. Share possible uses.
I'll be collecting quotes, and then designing a bit, and the order should go in on Wednesday. I'll let you know the INSTANT they come in!
send me quotes!
note ways to use these to spread the word - the best one may win a prize!
as a radical of my acquaintance says,
"We have a world to win."

I will ask you 1 or 2 pithy questions, so.....
For the 'the book is so long" group, of which I am very occasionally one, post a card-holder at your place of business, add cards, and add a sign which says
I'll bet you can't read a 1168-page book in 6 months! In fact, I'll pay you $ [amount left to poster] if you do. notice: I will ask you one or two questions, so you will have the opportunity to show me that you have read the book."
oh, bother.
I am thinking that the cards should promote both, but lean more heavily on the movie side than the book side. I'm not sure how to do that, exactly, but I'm thinking.
All of your thoughts gracefully, I hope, received.
The quote used in AS3 is like #6 - I can't remember exactly, but it was about faking reality.
The problem is, people will look at that and say, affronted, "I'm not faking reality! Reality is REAL, you can't fake it."
where will you leave them?
It's like a "no thinking here' visor flips down over their brains!
thank you very much for your thought.
giggles at the very thought.......
I absolutely agree with you about shorter is better [for quotes] but am not in favor of paraphrasing. Rand, especially, is hard to paraphrase using fewer words. Most people end up using more!
thanks - I'd rather keep business "in the family"
"Wealth is the product of man's capacity to think."
"No one's happiness but my own is in my power to achieve or to destroy."
