I was laughing while I read what is in the link.
Gore--Let's ban cars from cities and spend $90 trillion to make it so.

Let's just start calling this coo coo bird "Al Agenda21". Cuz that's the horn he's tootin'! Herd everyone into the cities...easier to control that way. Isn't it amazing the lengths some of these has-beens will go to stay relevant and in the spot light? Second-handers magnified.

I agree with Gore's basic idea but not a master plan that costs a year's worth of global GDP. Any time you ban something or set a hard limit, it stifles even activities that create more value than they destroy. I admire him for point out the long-term costs of burning stuff. If we had to focus on one emissions source, it makes sense that it would be cars b/c we design our cities around them and that drives the need for them. But we do not have focus on one thing. We can use taxes and emission credits to let people find their own ways of reducing emissions. I have a hunch, nothing scientific, that someone will come up with a relatively inexpensive to deal with the effects of the carbon emissions, allowing us to burn stuff at almost no cost to people in the future.

I strongly admire Al Gore for pointing out the problem and that transportation is the low-hanging fruit of emissions reduction.

I agree completely- However- this "nutjob" has managed to collect tens of millions of dollars through his lunacy. I've been accused of being nuts but I'm barely worth ten dollars! Every time I hear another idiotic Goreism, I realize that I'm the dumb one and he's a capitalist genius!

When I originally wrote the title to this thread, it was "Al Gore Has Gone Insane."
I stared at that for a couple of seconds, thought "hey, he's already displayed being insane" and added the modifier "completely."
Now I'm thinking I didn't modify his insanity enough.
Or I shoulda wrote, "Al Gore has gone from completely insane from stark raving bananas!"
To think this cuckoo clock won the popular vote when he ran for president.

I don't think Al Gore would approve of a song with all that driving around.
Then it ends to driving home where there is actually an open fireplace. Tch! Tch!
    That's not PC at all!
(All of a sudden I'm thinking about a lot of old songs with cars that race in it, including "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena." Go, Granny! Go, Granny! Go, Granny! Go!)

A better solution would be banning Gore from the states. :)

This seems like a good idea. Actually cheaper by 10 trillion bucks than the entirety of President Obamas budget for the next 2 years. His latest brilliant plan, worked out over drinks, with 3 of his biggest donors is to derive power by extracting vital chemicals from recycled Crazy Glue deposits. I hope this brings his dream of a 3rd term to fruition.

Or was it 1992? In any case he has been insane for a long long time. At least ever since he created the internet.
