From the link:

This index, published by the Fraser Institute, presents the only comprehensive economic freedom ratings for U.S. states and Canadian provinces.

Just as Economic Freedom of the World seeks to measure economic freedom on an international basis, Economic Freedom of North America measures differences in economic freedom among the Canadian provinces and U.S. states. Economic Freedom of North America allows users to investigate the relationship between economic freedom and prosperity within North America.

I think that's true of every state and country in the world right now. We could all be doing better with less government interference, but it seems to grow and grow.

The freer states like Texas and SD are doing better.

Nunavut, NW Territories, and Yukon are all labelled white. Does that mean no economic activity? If you look down from 35,000 ft, though, you might see the dots of greenhouses, trailers, and small building of a Gulch hidden in the boreal forrests.

Most free, still implies a level of enslavement. Everything is hindered with rules and regulations. We are not a free market, capitalist society anymore.
