According to Gallup Obamas job approval is at 50%. I find this hard to believe. Is it a function of people not paying attention? The media? Poor polling?

If they are polling beneficiaries of the executive amnesty - I might expect a high number for "The Obama".

Pelosi actually had a Freudian Slip once in a news conference and almost called him "The Obama".

I've seen other polls and most put him around 30%, with 50% support among _Democrats_.

Just like the jobs figures, these are manipulated.

It is all about the questions and how they are asked, and who they are asked from.

    For example.
Regarding President Obama, do you consider him to be a Great president.

    1) Totally Great
    2) One of the best
    3) Good
    4) Very Good
    5) Somewhat good
    6) Tolerable
    7) Could do better
    8) Very Very Bad.

Now When you total that set of questions, the odds are that he would get a better than 50% approval rating.

This is why I do not pay any attention at all to the "statistics" unless I know the EXACT set of question used, and "WHO" are answering them.

approve of what? it is all in how the question is formatted not what it says. as Blacks make up about 25% of the population, and he being the first black president, most will support as I would, add in those that are on the lower end of the economic scale, why be suprised. for most, they don't think the goveernment let alone the president has much impact on thier lives and don't care. they vote on looks and feeling like he is one of them. I'm still waiting for an italian president, my grandfather would be proud! imagine the wine at the white house dinners!! lol

All these polls are a complete joke. I bet half of those polled could not name the VP!
Not one day has gone by in the last 6 years where we have not seen Zero's face all over every MSM ch. Approval by facial recognition.

It is a function of all of that plus those that just will not say something negative about someone that they voted for. It would show they were wrong and their ego will not allow that!!

The percentages of those who approve and who disapprove are about 50-50. Based on statistics I've seen, half of us are paying the tax bill for both ourselves and the other half.

I wonder: What percentage of those who disapprove of the job this idiot is doing are among those carrying the tax burden for themselves and at least one other?

And what percentage of those who approve are being carried by someone else?

Honestly, I think the polling is not being accurately reported. Given the numerous examples of incompetence, executive over-reach, out and out lying, the disaster that is Obamacare, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and abject failure in foreign relations, the actual approval rating couldn't be more than 25-30%.

I was reading an article about WWII a few weeks ago and noted that in 1933 there were Jews who voted for Hitler. In fact the polling at the then new Dauchau concentration camp north of Munich showed that 100% of the inhabitants voted for Hitler. People today are so disconnected that they simply vote on likeability. Obama's smile and stupid Obamacare video makes people think he is one of them. Same with his NCAA brackets. We take a different view and understand that the view of the President has worldwide implications and there is a certain standard of respect the President should have. We also must remember that a growing number of people are now in the "me" generation and that the world revolves around them. As a result many are simply uniformed and base their decisions on the most recent soundbite.

I can't tell if that many are Kool Aid drinkers or if the numbers were manipulated. I actually hope it is a faulty survey.
