What's in a name? Would any other flower named Democrat smell as ... (pardons to Shakespeare)

The real problem Democrats have is that they're not even Democrats anymore - they're socialists.

    That is what I thought and he was more or less a socialist. Think he did not like that the Republicans were adopting the more limited government approach so he started Bull Moose. I think this is what started the switch over.

    I think an argument could be made on behalf of Andrew Jackson, particularly with regard to his tireless effort against Nicholas Biddle, who started a precursor to what is now the Federal Reserve. Jackson retired the debt ... completely.

    If I remember my history correctly they used to be the small government party. I think it started to change with Teddy R but I might be off on that part.
