A Flag for Blatant Contradictions

I think if someone consistently makes contradictory claims that we should be able to flag their comments as an alert to others that it is on our radar. If I walked into the gulch and saw some of these remarks and thought they were typical for this gulchonline place I'd hit the pavement. There has to be a way of letting new comers know that certain things are not okay with the bulk of objectivists in here and I don't want to scare the shit out of people the minute they land. People find their way here to get AWAY from that kind of non thinking.....

I would have to say as a student of objectivism that this idea would be helpful. I often look to see many of those I have discerned as mentors to gauge their reaction to questionable comments.

By your own offensiveness language, you identify your non-reasoning approach.

That is nonsense. If you'd like to express an opinion on any of my comments, please refresh your knowledge of the English language as well as basic logic. Otherwise: "It's often better to keep your mouth shut than to open it and remove all doubt."

I think it's great when people spot a bad premise: " your logic is right, but it rests on the assumption that X & Y are causal correlated, which isn't proven. Saying CYP without mentioning a promise is just a meaningless epithet. The flag should simply be an icon of an obscene gesture.

Precisely. There's enough nonsense out in the day to day dealings with sheeple. This is the one place where logic, thoughtful discussion, and rationality are supposed to trump the rest of the ridiculousness. Away, foul ignorance!

And it wasn't an "inconsistency flag" that I'm suggesting... it's a "contradiction flag"... where discussions have already been attempted in an effort to iron out said contradiction, to no avail. As for the religious objectivist and the supporting/opposing candidates ideas go...CHECK YOUR PREMISE!

They do, but I don't like hiding or silencing someone so much..I'd rather flag a comment so others know others have noticed a problem.. like a "check your premise" flag.

I thought admin had already given the poster and 'hide' option?

If this means something short of hiding a members post I would suggest coloring the members comments after a certain number of producers (for example 4) have flagged the person in question. Perhaps the font could be changed to make the comments harder to read.
