I have eaten my share of strange things. I even ate dog once while stationed in Korea, but I think I am content to let others eat donkey meat.

Somewhere in the dim past I read that it tastes sweet, like a venison. (I've never had venison or mule either one).

“Donkey meat is not a Chinese staple meat dish, but is commonly consumed as a snack.” – What the heck happened to a Snickers Bar? That is just weird in any culture…

    Hello johnrobert2,
    Happy New Year!
When we were young we were told to clean our plates. The Chinese were starving after all... Apparently they were just low on donkey... Who knew... :)
    Best wishes,
    O.A.

Were I a betting man, I would say it tastes like beef. The Plains Indians of the Southwest preferred mule when it could be had. Guess if you're hungry enough, anything tastes good.
