Indeed. I heard on the Radio earlier that one President (Nixon) was denied this power. I have not confirmed this.

That article says that every previous recent president has had this power. That doesn't speak well for giving the power to any president ever again. The POTUS should be stripped of power. The occupants of the office have proven again and again that they can't be trusted with any significant power, N-O-N-E. Politicians have no business holding a power that has nuclear destructive consequences.

True. I thought politically it was a slam dunk. They could join with Democrats and stop TPP and if they win the White House in 2016 do what they want. It's not a smart move even if you look at from a sleazeball point of view.

I am not at all surprised. The GOP has been betraying the American people for 160 years... since its inception. They are just as traitorous as the Democrats.

TPP is a disaster. i can't believe how many republicans are lining up to support Obama on this.
