Understanding The Slave Mentality

This article grabbed me after I read the first paragraph. Yes, the post is long, but well worth the time to read.

This superb article not only explained the antics behind the lunatics (MSM, the Fed's, the Fed Agency heads, etc) running around in the country to me, but also gave a different perspective about the minds of the Looters in Atlas Shrugged.

Spread this article around, the truth needs to get out.

It sure does, except I do not have ANY sympathy for the 'captors'. I have nothing but total disdain for them.

One of the comments to "Understanding the Slave Mentality" is named "Contradictions Abounds". CA
refers to a speech Ayn Rand gave at the Military Academy at West Point 3/6/74. CA is lying as his quote is completely false. The whole speech can be read here:
    http://fare.tunes.org/liberty/library/pw...

As Rand wrote 'lying is an attempt to falsify reality.
Posters like 'Contradictions Aboundl are mental perverts unworthy of space in any forums.

I enjoyed, but the example of the Sgt is clearly faulty logic. The UCMJ is clear about "appearance of insubordination". I know the President has committed unconstitutional acts, and worse holds unconstitutional beliefs. The Sgt, however much I agree with him, CANNOT do what he did. Contrary to the author's assertion, the 1st Amendment is not absolute: one cannot purposefully libel; nor can one can freely shout "fire" and cause panic; nor if I have signed a contract which forbids certain speech (say with Pepsi that I don't aid Coke) can I say something in violation (prefer Coke during a televised interview) without paying the consequences.

?? Someone deleted your comment? Only the admin's can do that. I don't censor comments, even if I could: I actually practice tolerance, even if I disagree. Write it again.

Was my previous comment deleted? Or can I simply not find it? The logic of the ordering here sometimes eludes me. I hope it was not for expressing a different opinion? I was quite civil and rational, so I would have to surmise someone doesn't like diversity. I will happily withdraw this if I just misunderstood.

    Awesome find!
What I find sad: Of the business owners, customers and suppliers I have; the people who can affect non-slavery......over half are slaves by these definitives.....in manufacturing businesses of all things!

Have you ever read something that sounds like you wrote it yourself, but you know you can't write that well?

I just have. Thanks for the post.

Agreed! Speaking in general of course. We've taught our kids not to be submissive, "do what they are told" people too... Can be kind of annoying at times when they question me of course, but I have wouldn't have it any other way of course, LOL!

Wow, this is good. I think the descriptions at the end are particularly apt. The parts about fighting to maintain the system, and needing the sense of security and so on. We are definitely there. Many people talk like they don't 'need' the government or like the govt controls. The reality is, they couldn't imagine life without them. Just let something difficult come up in their lives and watch how fast they say their oughta be a law,or there should be some kind of help for this situation.... and so on.. We have been conditioned for several decades now to be good sheeple of the state...
