Whereas the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 114th Congress has endeavored to consolidate power and centralize decision-making, bypassing the majority of the 435 Members of Congress and the people they represent;

Whereas the Speaker has, through inaction, caused the power of Congress to atrophy, thereby making Congress subservient to the Executive and Judicial branches, diminishing the voice of the American People;

Whereas the Speaker uses the power of the office to punish Members who vote according to their conscience instead of the will of the Speaker; Whereas the Speaker has intentionally provided for voice votes on consequential and controversial legislation to be taken without notice and with few Members present;

Whereas the Speaker uses the legislative calendar to create crises for the American People, in order to compel Members to vote for legislation; Whereas the Speaker does not comply with the spirit of the rules of the House of Representatives, which provide that Members shall have three days to review legislation before voting;

Whereas the Speaker continues to direct the Rules Committee to limit meaningful amendments, to limit debate on the House floor, and to subvert a straightforward legislative process;

and Whereas the House of Representatives, to function effectively in the service of all citizens of this country, requires the service of a Speaker who will endeavor to follow an orderly and inclusive process without imposing his or her will upon any Member thereof: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives is hereby declared to be vacant.

    Of course, I have made that mistake too.
    Thus what I still get stuff in my mailbox.
    That's OK. Old dino gets to snap back at their wanting their money for nothing at their own "no postage necessary" expense.
    I ignore any and all caller ID campaign phone calls. Vonage provided a handy button that cuts my end of the ringer off.

    Pssst! I've done this before a couple of times before, especially when I see Boehner's name on a GOP "send us a donation for sitting on our hands"request,
    As for the AARP, I've shredded up a page and stuffed it into "no postage necessary" envelopes ever since I learned they were greedy unpatriotic Obamacare cronies.
    I'm sure I'm not the only one who did that. Why?
    I've long noticed that the AARP very rarely provides.a "no postage necessary" envelope anymore.
    I must have been one among legions.

    He never should have been put back in! What a crock it is that he is even in his position.

    No way Pelosi would replace him. The Republican majority would not elect a Dimocrat Speaker. The majority leader would be the obvious choice, but any representative can run for Speaker.

    The questionnaire as I'm sure you know, is a ploy to get you to contribute. This whole pre-election campaign reminds me of the 1945 World Series. I think is was Detroit VS St. Louis. Both teams were decimated with most of the best players in the military. A famous commentator was asked which team he favored, he replied, "I don't think either side can win."
    So it goes.

    Boehner is the old guard carrying water for the Democrats, thinking to win by emulating them. The fact is that the Republicans need a younger, more conservative Speaker is obvious.

    I made the mistake of donating direct to NRC once. I had to threaten to donate to Hillary to get them to stop bugging me.

    well Done sir! Well Done! I donate to specific candidates directly. I will never give money to the NRCC. It is same thing as giving it to Wesley Mouch.

    The guy seems to have some significant emotional issues... just mention "daddy" to him and he seems to break down in tears. He needs help.. not a public office.

    Yesterday I received a questionnaire with a donation request from the National Republican Congressional; Committee with a prominent placement show of John Boehner, Speaker of the House,at the top..
    I opened up the questionnaire and saw a lot of enumerated questions with little for me to check off.on.
    I started to read the first question before I flew into a dino rage!
    I did not pick up a ballpoint but a big fat black magic marker.
    On top of the questions I scrawled, "Speaker Boohoo is Obama's favorite water boy!"
    I'm staring at the sealed envelope now, failing to recall what else I wrote in anger.
    It says "No postage necessary etc."
    I'll drop it off at the post office with some bills I'm paying later today.
    The bills contain something my latest response to the GOP does not.
    A check.

    The fun part about this is that Boehner can not block this vote. He can attempt to retaliate before the vote, but he cant block it from happening.

    What I think the vote will really do is expose the establishment Republicans. If nothing but that comes out of this, I will consider it a success.

    EXACTLY.
    And you can add John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Lamar Alexander, Susan Collins, Orin Hatch and John Cornyn to that list. And that is just the senate.
    Cheers

    I just listened to him on the Mark Levin Show. He knows he is in for a bit of a storm. But he is representing his constituency in North Carolina. He said " ... that is my job" . And if the money people in the Chamber of "Crony Capitalist" Commerce want to try and take him out, let them try. He got 2/3 of the vote last time. I may have to send him some Colorado money in support of his efforts.

    This may very well increase his popularity. Look at Donald Trump. if he gets hits hit, he hits back harder. He is growing on me.
    Cheers

    Boehner? Pelosi? McConnell? Reid? Schumer? There's not a hair's breadth of difference between them all.

    I agree. Boehner has lined up with Obama far too often for my taste. It just sounds like Meadows could have planned this better. I wish him luck as well and will contacting my Rep reaffirming my disgust with Boehner
