Our Foundation Has Crumbled
I see three major issues that must be corrected before we can even begin to think about the economy. (1) We have the highest percent of single parent homes and the highest percent of teenage pregnancies in the world. We must rebuild the family unit, teach our children the basics of what we had to learn .... discipline, morals, ethics, self-respect, self-reliance. (2) Our educational system is broken ... even our teachers and administrators change test scores and engage in sex with students. A country won't prosper when its citizens can't read and write, can't critically think, and don't know the Constitution. (3) Take the federal government back to its original job description ... arbitrate disputes between the states, provide for a common defense, conduct foreign policy, collect monies for those tasks ... and move everything else back to the state level where it can be controlled by the people.
Until we rebuild our foundation, we won't fix the economy and we won't have Conservative principles. We can pretend all we want, apply a multitude of bandaids, make more and more changes to regulate more and more people, spend more and more money, but if the foundation remains broken ... it "ain't" going to matter.

But we know you won't because you will be standing alone. Your friends and like-minded people will stand and watch them take you down. Only if you have some success will "Some" join you. If a few of you have success then the Federal Government or even your local government will shut you down quicker than you can say "Oh Shit".
Sorry. That is your reality. That is my reality. That is everyone's reality because we do not stand shoulder to should and fight when we should. We wait until it is a lost cause then we ask, what can we do?
The answer is nothing................
Don't you know that nobody today does anything except for themselves? You don't stand a change to change things unless you are willing to pick up a gun and start shooting.
But you will never do that because that is against the law and you are a fair minded person.
THEY use those factors against you and me. They don't care about what is fair and legal. They change (or ignore) the laws so that you are the bad guy for wanting to take charge of your life and to properly educate your children.
We are independent minded. We are Fair Minded and believe in live and let live for the most part. But when "THEY" get together they form laws which take away our rights because we have done nothing to fight back and protect ourselves and our children. WE LOOSE.
Some of us are more resilient but I have reached the point that I no longer "expect" people to deal with reality so I just keep things to myself and function alone. A lone wolf type of mentality.
I know I can rely only on myself and my abilities so that is what I am doing.
Good luck.
As AR said, it only takes a small, LOUD minority to change things. The scariest thing to combat is when the truth is right out there in the open and it is purposely ignored. That is an act of deliberation rather than ignorance. Those who engage in these tactics depend on the populace to NOT use critical thinking. I am convinced Common CORE is set up in such a way to use intimidation to discourage students from using critical thinking. "C'mon, you KNOW it's wrong," "That's immoral." Indoctrination mob rule style. I hope you've been watching your daughters' curriculum like a hawk or they are privately schooled.
I think the answer to the second half of point one and all of point two is to walk away from the public education system. WIthdraw your kids from the public schools and be vocal about why you are doing it. We also need to work to change the laws so we are not required to pay for a service (public schools) we are not using (easily over 50% of property taxes goes to paying for public schools, regardless of if you have any kids attending one).
I don't think point three will be corrected in my lifetime, but we've clearly got to work on reducing what the fedgov is involved in. A big part of the reason we're meeting resistance in fixing anything is just how much federal government spending IS the economy. We have people screaming today that we can't cut government spending because it will harm the economy. How screwed up is that? How did government get so big that when it takes a cut, the entire nation hurts? The only way that really happens is if you've got businesses that are only in existence because government is their main customer. The War on Terror has a lot to do with that, I think.
