Our Foundation Has Crumbled

I see three major issues that must be corrected before we can even begin to think about the economy. (1) We have the highest percent of single parent homes and the highest percent of teenage pregnancies in the world. We must rebuild the family unit, teach our children the basics of what we had to learn .... discipline, morals, ethics, self-respect, self-reliance. (2) Our educational system is broken ... even our teachers and administrators change test scores and engage in sex with students. A country won't prosper when its citizens can't read and write, can't critically think, and don't know the Constitution. (3) Take the federal government back to its original job description ... arbitrate disputes between the states, provide for a common defense, conduct foreign policy, collect monies for those tasks ... and move everything else back to the state level where it can be controlled by the people.

Until we rebuild our foundation, we won't fix the economy and we won't have Conservative principles. We can pretend all we want, apply a multitude of bandaids, make more and more changes to regulate more and more people, spend more and more money, but if the foundation remains broken ... it "ain't" going to matter.

Speaking from experience, I can tell you the biggest reason college professors are overwhelmingly liberal is that they hire only liberals like themselves. A division chair once told me his faculty voted to blackball a candidate because they were "afraid of her." I asked why and he said she once worked for Gingrich when he was speaker. One would think a black woman with a Ph.D. who had such experience would be a top candidate, but these libtards wouldn't even consider her for part-time teaching. This is typical of the liberal shit that goes on in academia. (I apologize for my language.)

Obviously I am talking about professors at the college level, and I’m only going by what I have witness, since returning to school. Many teachers are very liberal. Many are progressives, and many of them are close to retiring.Despite their short comings, I’m having a grand time learning a lot. I claimed avoiding the Vietnam draft was my rationale, and might be only of one contributing factors. I am not pleased with the job Obama has done, but he still my president, and this is still my country. I can’t be rational about “what to do” if I am suppose to have a Pavlov's dog reaction whenever I see or hear Obama’s name. If people have been paying attention, and truly sick of what they are seeing the Dems will lose the Senate come next year, and maybe Obama will spend the last two years in Mexico where he usually goes when he doesn’t get his way. Either way, he is out of here in three. Cheers.

I pretty much disagree with you. this isn't baby boomer gen-this is two generations past that of public school indoctrination. this is Obama in the first term asking graduates (who can't find jobs) to go teach in poor communities and spout the liberal BS they learned in school, then college to unformed minds across the states. Did he ask students to "serve their community" in geriatric centers? we are exploding seniors. (baby boomers). no. ONLY volunteer with the youth. connect the dots

It occurred to me recently that one of the reasons that we might have so many liberals and progressive in high academic positions is because most of them represent the baby boomer generation, and good many of them would have chosen to stay in school to avoid the Vietnam draft. My philosophy is don’t go looking for trouble you can’t see. In other words, there is no reason to assume that there is some great conspiracy to control the hearts and minds of people. Things just work out that way sometimes. Maybe all this country is really suffering from is a bunch of menopausal hippies. :) Ten years,I think the tide will turn, and fortunately I am a patient woman. I am with Ayn Rand that you don’t look to heal the whole system, but just work with what you can reach. If you have kids, that is a sufficient place to start. If you don’t then, maybe a neighbor? If not, then just keep yourself happy. You are of a value. But whatever you do, don’t waste your time with irrational people.

We need to have a voice again...not to be drowned out by fear of scorn. "Question with boldness"... Who said that? Thomas Jefferson?

Silence is an enabler. @tm. (That one is mine! :))

THAT is the million dollar question. Other than starting with a child at birth, I don't have a clue. Maybe we'll just have to wait until we really do collapse and then, from the ashes, rebuild.
