But they beg for it all the time! 'We don't need no ed ju kay shun.' is a cry for help. Generations now are only 12-15 years apart.

But the one's born Jan 2001 and later has you said will do nicely. though they are by modern standards at child bearing age.

That means I could be a great grandparent like my sister and she's younger than me? Nah.. I've made a career out being 39 and I'm sticking to it.

Since my grandchildren are all adults(Born in the 90s) who seem to know the basics of American history I think we should start with the post millennia kids. They don't need knowledge. They live in a cyber world.

That was an example of South Dakota method vs. Socratic Method or the Common Sense method. I much preferred the vote no on school funding method but thought it far too difficult to be successfully understood.

I have to say that I learned more from Youtube about technical stuff than I ever did in high school or college. I also learned more about history from the Hitler channel documentaries than I ever did in public school. I think the public schools are primarily government indoctrination centers and arent there for MY education.

I believe public education should be abolished (ex-
cept police academies, military training, and such),
and replaced with private schools and home-school-
ing. But as long as we have public schools, they
should do what they are supposed to do. If they
claim to teach history, they should teach real
history. If the people of South Dakota tolerate
this, and do not raise h--l with their school boards, they are unbelievably despicable fools.

Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.

This is a puzzling article because its agenda is not clear to me. Generally the dichotomy is [teach Slavery and Native Am but NOT the Constitution] or [teach the Constitution but NOT Slavery or the Native Am]. The former represents the current liberal PC stance; the latter represents the old-style whitewashing of American history; neither is accurate, of course.

But a program that espouses the removal of the first 100 years of American history does not play into either of these agendas. It does make me wonder if the program also omits world history prior to 1900.

I do not understand what is going on here.

For the young people. GED at fifteen and on to something else. Then start voting against the school budget for K-12. There only purpose is friday night entertainment anyway. i'm going to paraphrase Zappa again. If you want your kids to become educated give them a library. It's spelled KINDLE If want them not to get paid send them to public schools.

South Dakota should have taken a lesson from Florida. Some few decades ago the Business Associations voted to drop the space for High School Education and use it for something useful. That started a trend reversal until Common Core showed up but I hear it's returning. The easy way is start advertising for entry level work stating Junior College required.

With which crop should we start? Presumably before all of us are dead and the books burnt in a frenzy of ACLU witch hunting. We are already three decades in the hole. Start by voting against school budgets. If they are worthless why throw good money after bad? Remember they don't need a majority of citizens only a majority of those voting. one to zero is as good as a million to one. That is at the local level where many of us do have power. At least until obeyme federalizes the school systems.

My kids are both in college- one a classically trained guitarist, the other seeking a degree in forensic science.

I've been talking history and politics with them at the dinner table since they were little. I didn't rely on the school system.

Why teach history at all.? Let the current crop of kids think that the USA just sprang into existence -- sorta like Adam & Eve.

Maybe we shouldnt study the government indoctrination version of history if we really want to learn from it. My public school education was ridiculous at best, and evil at worst. I wasted so much time sitting in those classes when I could be really learning things I needed to know to prosper.

If I still had school age children now, I certainly would not put them in the public school system. There are so many things wrong with it now. I believe I would home school or find a charter school I liked. When my children were young I stayed home or worked part time, and I was at the school at least a couple of days a week volunteering my time so I could stay on top of what was happening in my child's classroom and in the school.

The socialist hippies saw long ago that America was too powerful a military force and they listened to the propaganda of Lenin, Marx, and Stalin who instructed them to take over our education system. In 3 generations, the proles will be turning themselves over to us with no shots ever being necessary. It worked. The education has been subdued and so have the people. Brainless people do not resist.

So how else would one hide the thoughtlessness, the anti human behavior and mindless set of liberals, demoncraps and progressive mental retardation's.

This is so disappointing. I just came back from a visit to South Dakota last week. It is a beautiful state.
It is sad to realize the lack of cognitive and reasoning ability in those who govern the education of the next generation. I am including many parents in this indictment. The upcoming generation is being systematically stripped of decision-making ability by not giving them the background to this inform their decisions. We are bringing up the largest generation of "victims" the world has ever known.

The American University system has become the "education and propaganda arm" of the liberal-progressive movement. It is now more important to teach what to think than how to think.

Pretty interesting....usually they drop things like the constitution so we can study about things like slavery and the "Native Americans" and how whitey is the focus of all evil in the world. This looks just like a reduction in teaching in general with the only goal I can see, to save money! If they are going to generally reduce teaching in the schools....what are they going to do while babysitting the little darlings....because babysitting seems to be the only thing the schools do.

Home schooling? All the text's needed are available on http://Amazon.com with a kindle and most are zero charge. Whatever the school is lacking which means you won't have to get the third grade sex education down loads. This also means accepting a diploma from South Dakota will come under article four full faith and credit Here we go again. As for South Dakota? Give it back to the Sioux and Blackfeet

The truth of history has been suppressed for political reasons since 1860 (at least.)

This will sound bad and I don't mean to be so, but I regret having put kids into this country. They will see the end result of this dangerous agenda driven stupidity.
