This thought flashed through my mind with all the Popery talk and a line in a book I'm reading about Belfast during "the troubles."

The answer is a willingness to send young people and children out to die which in two parts of the world (Middle East and Ireland) made them martyrs. I thought the Catholics like the Islamics had banned suicide. Apparently not. No special reason for making that connection just happenstance and the curiosity of the similarity especially when the aftermath propaganda began.
