Methinks you complain too much. The site moderators here allow a very wide range of views and opinions, sometimes straying over the line of propriety. They have rarely censured (not censored as some want to claim) posters. As has been mentioned, the comments are still available, just takes a bit more effort to see them. This is a punishment for the individual(s) that exceeded the very loose bounds of propriety. Stop your bitchin' about how the site is being run. Geez, just because you cough up a couple of bucks you think you have the right to dictate how the OWNER gets to run his property. As I said before, if you don't like it, then leave.
People who become too unpopular receive too many down votes, and will have their posts hidden and be unable to vote on comments until their point total rises. This doesn't happen unless one's vote tally goes sufficiently into negative numbers.
I was wondering the same thing... thought it strange we have to click on the post to see what it is; of course, with the warning of "post hidden due to..." warning, it makes it less likely that one would click; after all, since its hidden, it must be spam. Nichts gut. Verboten.
Even if it isn't.
I agree some people post a lot of tripe and sludge worthy of Balph Eubanks, but the exposition of this tripe is the best weapon against it... not making the overarching decision to hide it for our own good.
Yes, that is what the media does now, hide the news that we do not need to see, for our own good. It was easier when the 3 networks and the newspaper were deciding what news we need. North Korea is still trying.

Just my 2 cent opinion.
