World Indigenous Games

The World Indigenous Games is on the one hand a harmless cultural celebration and on the other the celebration of primitivism. Spear throwing and headdresses make for a spectacle, but when accompanied by raucous chants against a hosting government, the true nature of the event begins to unfold. The celebration of cultural heritage is not equivalent to the denouncement of the modernization, capitalism, or objective law. It is important to note that the World Indigenous Games involved chanting slogans against the Brazilian government.
Rand followers have been accused of enshrining technological advancement at the cost of moral values. What moral values? The movement toward primitivism a protest against reason. We have been taught in public schools that the native way of life is as much as alternative to that of the modern technological society. At what cost?
It is regrettable and horrific that natives died of disease to which there was little immune resistance. But to then denounce the civilization that invented penicillin? It is regrettable that battles between the settlers and the natives resulted in loss of life. But then to hold fast to a racial view of history?
The World Indigenous Games can be a fun and educational event for both "indigenous" and non-indigenous peoples. But when accompanied by protests against a sovereign government, the event takes on the rebellion against "modernization" (i.e. capitalism and objective law). This can only lead to further degradation to tribal law and the return of the primitive.

Eurocentric term.
However - I have, for the last few years, been always "supporting" special treatment of protected classes, as long as I was included since I had the same DNA/roots from Africa as the rest of the human race (ergo - no special classes...).
(I am just as Mexican, Jewish, Native American, Aborigine as most of the people in the group...so how about we just forget the distinction as a reason for some retribution, refund, right to promised land, etc.)
The bigger problem with them is, in terms of the modern world order, those places are a power vacuum and nature abhors that. So the primitive country winds up becoming a haven for bad guys who prey on the rich countries (like the pirates in Somalia, or the terrorists in various Muslim countries).
In my view that is good cause to invade and conquer places like that, and the only objections to doing so should be practical ones if they apply.
I am tired of the ole rhetoric of they were here first...it's in the past, so get over it; and to the larger issue, why would one want to leave others of the same species behind, ignorant of civilization, (such as it is), much less celebrate one's pagan, bicameral ways. If that was our way through out history...very few of us would have reached consciousness much less achieved civilization.
Mankind achieved it's status through mutuality for those outside the family unit...it wouldn't have worked any other way.
What is the difference? I have no agenda other than having fun. I always love the tales of the Knights of the Round table, and being able to play in a sub-culture that remembers honor and chivalry (without including sexism, racism, religious persecution or the Bubonic Plague) is a great vacation.
So bravo for ancient sports, but let's do without the political agenda.

Oh, sorry, that would be the evil free market at work.
Coordination by smoke signal. No travel above the level of feet and riding a beast. No modern fabrics. No participant who has been vaccinated or treated with antibiotics. Enough said. Ignorant savages.
Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice...
How about "prepare ten acres for planting with an ox-bone plow?" Or "bury five of your eight children before their first birthday?" Maybe "die of infection after stepping on a sharp rock," or that old hit, "starve to death?"
