- 2Posted by $ nickursis 9 years, 5 months agoI know, I had 30K student debt, because I got loans at 2.99% so I borrowed all I could. Still paying it off. Part of the problem is a huge amount of employment does not require a college degree, but requires specific education and experience. A lot of companies would do better to look at the ability of a person to learn and adapt as proven by military service, or accept trade school or 2 yr degrees. Then you provide specific education as needed. Intel operates a lot like that, but is stilld rifitng towards the Bachelors requirement, which is really not needed. I waqs hired 20 years ago with just HS, some college, and 20 years in the Navy.
