What is next? Will they send inspectors to your home to sniff your chimney? The EPA is once again out of control! Wood burners beware! Campfires verboten?

Is GW global warming? It's valid whether I give it validity or not. I can't make up facts b/c I don't like their consequences. Regarding pollution credits, we can attempt to calculate the cost of damage from pollution and then charge people for the cost. That way we don't have to make hard rules that limit pollution regardless of how useful the activity is. If someone has something that will generate billions of dollars of value to willing customers, it's worth doing some environmental damage. By the same token, if someone can clean up pollution, they could be eligible to sell the credit to the polluter. This creates a market for positive and negative externalities of production.

I just think they could be dynamic, so if a device senses it's in a rural area with little congestion, it could take more bandwidth.

I am not saying the spectrum should be a free-for-all, but it's amazing at how well hoppers, broadband OFDM, and other services co-exist peacefully on the ISM bands. You look at an analyzer and see a 20MHz segement is free only 20% of the time. You connect to a coffee shop AP in that environment, and get >1Mbps. It's an example of people coexisting without only a few rules.

I split my own wood. To take that job I want higher BTU's. Cedar smells real nice but I use mine to cook with a great deal too. I love to bake bread in the stone oven and use my grill. I may be a woman but I can split wood with the best of ya lol

The sad part is that we have to even speak about our government this way and mean it. In the mean time plant a few trees but throw a fish in the hole before the tree.

When pine is well dried out it burns fine. Lower BTUs but no mess in the chimney. Have burned a lot of it. Sometimes sell it, too. My favorite wood is incense cedar; smells great, splits nice.

Just stoked my fire. I love it too. On a cold rainy day like today, nothing better unless you add the smell of bread baking. Oh be still my beating heart.

in this case, however, there is no intimidation. The EPA encourages such groups to sue. After ll, it's the taxpayers money and built into their budget. In the article, it said 6 state atty general filed suit against the EPA for regulations on this not going far enough. EPA will settle the suits by giving the liberal states money.

Indeed. I am behind on my book reviews. I have read at least four since my last posted review... so many books... so little time. :)

This really does have to stop. I believe it is time to rid ourselves of this so called form of government and create a new, one that actually works. Best hold on to the old wood stove, we all might need to use wood for a while.

Thanks, enjoy the book. I'd love to hear what you think of it. And a little exposure to subzero temperatures works as well for me as a little bonfire.

This reinforces the image I have of every American with a noose around the neck being slowly tightened until the only response is compliance or death.

    Hello khalling,
It is easy to intimidate when legal costs are involved. Many citizens are done injustice for lack of funding to feed the lawyers...

One thing we haven't mentioned yet in the article is this insidious crony tag teaming-where extremist environmental groups "sue" the EPA for not going far enough with the regs. Then the case is always "settled" out of court-giving the environmental groups money to operate. This cozy relationship means the taxpayers pay to keep these environmental nazis in business. Congress should threaten to de-fund the EPA if they continue this practice. OF course they won't. and breaches like this are so plentiful which holes in the dam do you plug first?
