It began with a quote from Thomas Jefferson:

"If nature has made any one thing less susceptible than all others of exclusive property, it is the action of the thinking power called an idea, which an individual may exclusively possess as long as he keeps it to himself; but the moment it is divulged, it forces itself into the possession of everyone, and the receiver cannot dispossess himself of it. Its peculiar character, too, is that no one possesses the less, because every other possesses the whole of it. He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. That ideas should freely spread from one to another over the globe, for the moral and mutual instruction of man, and improvement of his condition, seems to have been peculiarly and benevolently designed by nature, when she made them, like fire, expansible over all space, without lessening their density at any point, and like the air in which we breathe, move, and have our physical being, incapable of confinement or exclusive appropriation. Inventions then cannot, in nature, be a subject of property."

I'm still looking for the cat. Having been shy of hard sciences in early years I'm finding it is fascinating in this stage of life and FUN!

Don Pendleton was the writing crews pen name. They were crap books on a par with the penny dreadfuls of the late 18th century or the supermarket tabloids of today. The literature of the graduates of public education.

John Wayne was far too intellectual for the group mentioned

You're right, but if we allow ourselves to survive, we will eventually know it all. At present, it may be so alien to us that we cannot conceive it, but we will -- we will.

there is the distinction between an idea and a written
product, sir -- the idea of a bumblebee flying is distinctly
different from the piano music "flight of the bumblebee!" -- j

Dark matter is likely the quantum particles of energy that make up matter. Space is not a vacuum nor a void...everything needed for life or metal blows upon the cosmic winds.

New startup to the thread on long term income and that brings up tv, movies, cd's, dvd's, kindle and artistic control. If write 'magazine' and some poof illiterate editor type changes it to 'clip' to save five spaces i want control. the rest of the above follws including kindle.

Combining somewhat with the thread about business i've read the movie industry is a snake pit of how to promise you one thing and leave you with nothing as an investor or even as a contributor. Any knowledgeable comments besides get a well versed shark lawyer from the get go?
