Republican Senator dumps on Trump
So, now the people inside the Beltway are telling us how to vote. I believe the electorate are fed up with the elites inside the beltway and that Trumps primary wins are the result of that dissatisfaction. I am not a Trump political fan and not saying I will vote for him but I am regarding the audacity of other politicians telling us what to do with our votes. To me that is why the standard US Citizen is upset with the political elites.

It's delusional to believe that Trump will be pro- liberty when his entire life he has been statist.
Welcome to the "zombie movie". :-)
Pres couldn't pass anything the con-gress didn't bring ? Ever heard of Obamacare?
Abandon the GOP. It's your only hope short of non-peaceful action.
What's next for some Trump's supporters? Hats, buttons, jackets...boots? Will they initiate force against those that are critical of Trump?
The group think is strong with this one....
FFA is right.
Hillary is the one who tells it like her handlers tell her to. In addition, she is beholden to Goldman and wall street, seeing as though they gave her so much money.
How bad can Trump really be for 4 years? He would blast open a lot of cronyism and bring it to the light of day. He cant actually pass any laws that the congress doesnt bring to him. He would hire better advisors and amployees than any of the others would also.
trump "tells it" the way he thinks you want to hear it, just like almost all the political class.
Trump is the best thing to happen to the divine right of kings in ages.
Emotions getting the best of us?
Heal thyself.
Tyrants dont often build big and successful businesses, though. Trump has had to rely on cooperation and picking good people to work with. Thats what we need as an administrator to run the government.
You got that one right! :-)
What do the Hillary supporters think Goldman is giving her $200k per speech for? They must expect favors at our expense.
What I really REALLY don't get is how the hell Hellary can take state after state - some at over 75% of the vote. I was watching the brouhaha last night, and screaming at the TV "Are these f***ing democrats blind and dumb and stupid? WTF is wrong with you for voting a known criminal, someone who is known to lie back to back, who puts on fake accents to sound like she's from somewhere, and cal legalese her way out of the crimes she has committed??!! Is your memory THAT bad you can't remember she crap she pulled when her husband was in the WH? ARRGHHHH!!!!!"
Ya know... Ayn was right. The moochers, looters, liberals, etc. hate themselves so bad they want to drag the rest of the world down in flames with them...
Otherwise we would have a Rand Paul VS Bernie Sanders Primary - both qualified from their own sides, both very dedicated to their specific agenda, but far far too bland and businesslike to be a media sensation, so they get the axe...
HOW do you think we ended up with the criminal bimbo VS the loud, non-PC hairpiece? The networks are drooling all over themselves... because THEY win.
So who is the Con Man? The guy that builds high rises, employing thousands of people and selling high quality condos to people that can afford them? Or the first-term Senator that has been on the campaign trail for at least a year, not representing his constituents, and fleecing the taxpayers for his salary the whole time?
I wonder if lots and lots of Republicans plus some Democrats could equal a majority. I think so.
Trump is an illustration of the New Fascism Rule by Consensus lecture posted here last week.
https://ari.aynrand.org/issues/govern...
People see Trump and say "Goodness he sounds fascist. He scares the bejesus out me. We need a good moderate who will look out for to all groups' views." I say illustration because if limited gov't and respect for individual rights had strong structures enforcing them, Trump wouldn't be so scary. We wouldn't feel the desperate need for someone who represents everyone's interests. It would be understood that people represent their own interests, and the president just runs the executive branch.
My thought is Trump cannot win. The question is what alternative to people run to. The obvious choice is Hillary Clinton, who I believe is a good person and "good moderate who will look out for all groups' views." But imagine if there were another viable choice, if a bunch of mainstream politicians supported Gary Johnson. It's still an extreme longshot, but a libertarian movement is a possibility.
Sessions is naive or can't think rationally regarding Trump.
Sasse appears to understand the danger of electing Trump.
Our founders devised a system based on separation of powers which has been eroded to a scary degree. States rights are almost non-existent. Congress is vilified and bypassed. The Supreme Court stands alone but is in danger of being turned to the left. One conservative justice is to be replaced now and in the next few years there will be three liberal justices to be replaced so a huge swing can occur based on the principles of the next President. I have no idea what Trump would do but I have a good idea on Clinton and total assuredness on Sanders' leanings.
My first Presidential vote (had to be 21) was for Barry Goldwater and he was the last candidate I was really "for". I was surprised by Reagan, disappointed by George H W Bush and have hardly been able to live with the rest. Now, I don't know if I even want to vote, even to vote against the other. If a serious challenge could be mounted by a third party candidate and cause the election to be decided in the house of Representatives could be our best bet.
