Listen Boys & Girls, Obama Him Says We Live In The "Most Peaceful" Era In Human History. Ain't That Swell?

I'm sure all that human history first for peacefulness is all due to him inside his precious little narcissistic delusional swell-headed addlepated boobyhatch.
Meanwhile as he speaks in Germany about how wonderfully peaceful things are, gangs of young Muslim thugs are attacking German women for being escorted and/or not wearing tents.
And all those Muslim "refugees" would not even be in Germany if Obama had not ignored his generals and pulled out troops to create the vacuum from which ISIS sprang.

Understood. Yes. I like to watch Stossel and he is fond of bringing the stats up. It is true. Statistically we have better odds of avoiding calamity and life spans have generally been increasing. The Media can't get ratings by hyping that. :) Of course this does not exonerate anyone...

Hey, did you hear Stossel has been treated for throat or lung cancer? Bad News...
I just did a search and it sounds like they caught it early ...

Thanks, OA. I'm suddenly enlightened over what this argument is all about. Me just an old dino.
So ain't Obama the miracle worker? Not!

So I finally get to see stats on a graph.
It's clear to me Obama is trying to take credit for something as silly as there being less war since World War II. Even Vietnam!
    I'm so freaking impressed!

Obama is, quite literally, whistling in the graveyard on this one. Completely delusional, he is.

I didn't say he caused it. But the statement he made is largely true. It makes no sense for people who claim to hold objective truth as a standard to deny it with zero facts and even worse logic as allosaurus has.

You're the one who brought your "all the stats" up.
One would think such "stats" would be at your fingertips.
The facts I know are the bloody terrorist attacks and the ISIS atrocities in the news every time I blink. I've also been reading about slavery not only for sex but for forced labor, such as getting work out of fishermen for exports to America..
Stats as well as polls are too often put together by people with agendas.

    Hello xthinker88,
Statistically, globally, I believe that is correct. I do not however ascribe any of the good stats to Obama. The curve was on its way down before O took office. In fact these global stats would probably be better without his divisive policies. I will also posit that peace is a relative and often provincial matter. Also a police state of cowed citizens is clearly more peaceful than open war, as is a "war" where drones do the killing while avoiding substantial boots on the ground. People living in fear may be peaceful, and statistically it looks good, but is it living? Is it Free? Clearly there are places O has made things worse and where some regimes keep the peace through tyranny.
Fewer people are being killed in war and the decline has generally fallen since WWII. Of course, when one measures from such an event of that magnitude it can appear no other way. http://knowmore.washingtonpost.com/20...

    Regards,
    O.A.

It's still just a matter of opinion and relative to the individual and the situation. Those that weren't involved really don't count.

While you'll have to be a little more specific on the "that" I'm not going to do your homework for you. The numbers are easy to find. You are the one that has no facts. So why don't you actually put together a logical fact based position and start over.

The left doesn't believe in using facts and resources that can be checked. They just keep changing the subject and lie a little bit more.

Balanced Budget With A Surplus should have taught you that.

For all this one knows ad hominem means a special on grits in the Sunday specials section. He has yet to present one fact or one resource and borrowed his whole paragraph from me. I noted when I did introduce the resources on another of his factless rants ----there was no answer.

Chicken :Little had once again flown the coop.

When someones behavior is completely irrational and destructive it is difficult to avoid ad hominem attacks. If a statement can only result from delusion then the person making the statement must be delusional.

Except for the proxy war between the US and China in Korea disguised as an UN "police action"... and that other little proxy war with the USSR in Vietnam... Just because we're not fighting an European power does not mean there isn't a shooting war between major powers, especially since the "major powers" line is now blurred...

Also, those killed in these "minor skirmishes" such as Kosovo or Somalia or even Iraq or Afghanistan ... is still dead. To them, the enemy that shot them and killed them is a pretty major enemy.

Like most of his other statements seem (to me, at least) it's a bald-faced and blatant attempt to rewrite history, knowing full well that if people hear it on the TV more than once they will take it as gospel... because it's too damned much work to do research and too much bother to challenge the status quo - especially while "Dancing with the stars" is on, and the new season of "Homeland" starts immediately after...

I expect more of this as soon as out appointed dynastic president gets her predetermined position handed to her.

Obama: We're Living in 'Most Peaceful' Era in Human History ???
Either this man is delusional or hallucinogenic compounds have been legalized in the White House………and that is a terrifying fact for those of us who pay attention.
    Um, let's see:
    1. Korea being allowed to build nukes.
    2. An agreement with the biggest terrorist nation, Iran, gives them billions of dollars to spread around to more of their terrorists.
    3. An ambassador and his protective servicemen murdered with a total disregard of sending help.
    4. France has a terrible terrorist bombing.
    5. Turkey shoots down Russian jet that crossed over into their airspace.
    6. Russian military jets buzzing our ships within feet.
    7. The three chin leader of N. Korea threatening to hit us with nuclear weapons.
    8. Iraq in turmoil…Afghanistan too and much of Africa.
    9. A budget deficit in our country that will not bring peace to the people in this country.
    10. Major insurance companies abandoning Obamacare due to high costs, just as a lot of people said before passed.
    11. Supporting terrorists over supporting our friends like Israel.
You can keep your doctor, remember that?
Obama has been a disgrace and a disaster for this country and the world and…… he has promoted division of our country instead of unity.

He lies like nobody in history……and when caught…..lies about his lies!

Only 266 ½ days left before Empty Suit, President Golf Cart leaves office and is replaced by Hillary Rotten Clinton, for the 3rd term for Obama.

Yes. So at least you understand somewhat what an ad hominem is. And followed it up with a non sequitur.

All the stats on warfare, global homicide rates, poverty and starvation levels, as well as the near elimination of slavery support the president's statement.

People who think we live in the most peaceful era in history: term2, sjatkins, xthinker, and CircuitGuy
People who think we do not live in the most peaceful era in history: Olduglycarl, MichaelAarethun, Technocracy, Abaco, allosaur, Tamlakos, wiggys, rtpetrick

jbrenner points out peace is not the same as the absence of violence, which may explain why people have opposite views. Maybe if the quote were "we live in the least violent era in human history" more people would agree.

If you are accusing me of attacking the man and not his position, seems to me you might as well call me a racist as libtards do to get people to shut up and sit down.
Now that would be an ad hominem attack.
I have found that I am against almost everything Obama stands for. So that would set me against the man. I think the Castro brothers suck too.
I consider King Barry and his "fundamental change" to be an enemy of the Constitution and freedom just as I do such Progressives as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi..That also goes for enabling kiss-ups like Paul Ryan and his weepy predecessor.
And you actually think Obama is actually probably right? Tell that to the countess and still growing victims of ISIS, who Obama's wimpy leadership had a hand in creating.

For me the scariest part of the speech is that health care is now a right (granted by the government). This "right" granted by Obama doubled my insurance costs. And, for me, this is socialism in it purest form and is the forerunner to more "rights" that will enslave us further.

Robert A. Heinlein, early in his career, said: "'Peace' is a condition in which no civilian pays attention to military casualties that do not achieve page-one, lead-story prominence, unless said civilian is a relative of one of the casualties. But...there has [n]ever been a time in history in which 'peace' meant there was no fighting going on." (From Starship Troopers) So if Obama has made us numb to military casualties that do not achieve page-one, lead-story prominence, then he might get away with his statement.

Of course, Rand never had any patience with the anti-war movement. Mainly because she saw the United States--or rather, the ideal of the United States that first made her want to flee here--as an oasis of freedom in a desert of tyranny. Therefore the rest of the world constituted the enemies of freedom.

Haven't you all noticed that any other libertarian assumes there need be no enemies but what we make? "War is the health of the State," someone--whom Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) quoted extensively during his career--said.
