New surveys that seem to show millennials rejecting capitalism and for socialism. They really show a deep confusion that requires a strong dose of capitalist morality to cure.

    "No discussion needed or allowed."
Indeed. Why am I here? Am I deliberately obtuse or just addled? I think it's because the website name refers to one of my favorite elements of one my favorite books. If it had been no-discussion.com, I would never have come. Talking to someone based on a URL name is a stupid reason, really stupid.

CG, you need to learn that words have specific meanings. Either you are deliberately obtuse or so confused it's not worth a discussion. I do not like being insulting, but I am being truthful.

" It is impossible be Progressive and for Social Justice and be a supporter of Rand."
Why is that? As I said in my comment,
Progressive - You'd have to nail down what you mean in this contest.
Social Justice - I know this phrase from the Social Justice Committee at my UU congregation. They work on helping the homeless, LGBU rights, protecting the environment, reducing prison population; all things I strongly support and are consistent with the Rand books I've read.

Cultural indoctrination compounded by the death of Critical Thinking...
    Very Sad...

My cohort is also inherently selfish. Not that I'm making excuses, but when you're told growing up that you are special - if you hear it enough times, you begin to believe it. No matter how ludicrous the premise.

Thank you, Tech. It is impossible be Progressive and for Social Justice and be a supporter of Rand.
So why are you here, CG?

It is confusing. I thought Millennial had to do with those born close to the end of the millennium. So those born after the turn of the millennium will be what? Communials?

Woiw who changed those definitions we used to be 1945 to age 65. But as for the rest of them

    X+Y=Zero.

I guess millennial started early since the dumb asses celebrated a year early. Common Core Modern Math?

Thanks. So Baby Boomers are generally between 1945 and 1964, Millenials are 1980 to 2000, so Generation Xer's are 1965 to 1980? Or maybe 1985? 20 year cycles?

The definitions vary a bit, but the broadest category includes those born in the 1980s onward to around 2000. They followed Generation X. I read recently that the Millennials now outnumber the Baby Boomers for the first time.

If you were told from the time you entered preschool that "love" was the root of all evil, you would believe it by the time you were voting age. these kids are just indoctrinated and ignorant, but their ignorance is not an accident.

Raising children is a big responsibility and it takes a LOT of time and energy. No wonder he made the comment about not wanting to look after them !

No matter what I did relative to Gary Johnson, he isnt going to get anywhere, so why waste time and energy on him. Trump can beat Hillary, which is much more important to me now.

I forget how you referred to Trump, but it sounded a lot like you think he would be some sort of disaster. The REAL disaster would be Hillary, and she is going to win if Trump doesnt. Forget Gary Johnson in this election. He cant get any traction in 6 months. Maybe next time if the country lasts long enough under Hillary

Thanks for your exposition, term2. I must correct one statement you made: "I know you hate trump with a passion." You cannot know that, and in fact I do not hate anyone. I may disapprove, disagree, feel revulsion at some individuals' actions and beliefs. Hate does not enter; hate is a self-destructive force. Or maybe you did not aim the remark at me? Coming in a reply to my comment I had to assume you did.

If you want to reverse statism, support Gary Johnson and give him the traction he needs.

I'm amused by your crediting Trump with good child-raising. He said in an interview that he wanted more children, as long as he didn't have to look after them.

I am not sure what your reply is a response to other than a tangential story of someone you rebuked for manifesting the prejudice against Jews that i am saying motivates Socialism, Communism and Anti-Capitalism .

Trump is a start to reversing our decline. He is saying a number of things that need to said. Not everything, but Rome was not built in a day. Look at how crooked this election process is and what trump had to do in order to break into it. He has establishment haters who.constantly are trying to destroy him and even his wife.

The establishment wants bought and paid for Hillary. The democrats hate sanders for his anti establishment stance. The repubs wanted bush and would settle for Rubio. But trump has the voters.
It's time to get rid of the parties' hold on the election and make the whole election just on a one person-one vote basis. Right now it's rigged to perpetuate the money and power grabbing businesses we call the repub and dem parties.
Trump is breaking that up. He is really an outsider independent using the repubs to help him get elected

I know you hate trump with a passion. When I saw his family on cnn town hall a couple of weeks ago, I was very impressed by his children, especially ivanka. I say the apples don't fall far from the tree, and from the look of the apples- the tree must be pretty good. It's hard to raise good kids these days.

Anderson cooper is a real liberal ass, but trumps kids shut him down with their articulate and thoughtful answers. No bravado. No viciousness. Just very intelligent and unrehearsed and honest responses to coopers attacks. Trump himself just let them say what was on their minds.

This is so refreshing in this world of political correctness and manipulation. If trump has done one thing, he has made it ok to speak ones mind at the time and allow free dialog. That's how we all grow and hopefully do the right thing

It's way too early for Gary Johnson to actually get traction. The predominant philosophy is statism now and entitlement. That needs to be reversed FIRST. I think one way to start this process is to point out the failures of statism. Stop letting statists get away with manipulating us all into ignoring the failures of things like obamacare, electing people like the evil witch Hillary who will just do what her contributors want.

It will takes long time to reverse the momentum of statism. Look at the support for sanders among the young. And sanders is an avowed socialist

I wasn't counting just our 20,000. If we each tell 10, and they tell 10, we can go far behind our little enclave, and if Johnson can get into the debates, the whole country can hear him, and over 50% of Americans are turned off by their parties, hence their attraction to an absolute horror like Trump. You do the math.

Unfortunately it's NOT an assumption. He would need 50 million votes to be elected. Gulcher members are about 20,000. Do the math

PL, I disagree, but for purely practical reasons...

There aren't 'enough of us' to do that, and the vast majority of voters live in their rad-hardened Reality Distortion Bubbles and are impervious to anyone else's ideas which might disagree with theirs.

I suspect that, if there is to be any such success like you're looking for, it must start with our minority working to educate the Young to alternative ideas that might immunize them to the shit they're going to hear in public school and college.

I have a 'step-grandson' who's Extremely Bright and for the past few years, I've been 'brainwashing' him into the Socratic Method of evaluating "problems" in order to try to get to Root Cause.

He's just 15, turns 16 towards the end of this year, and our 'discussions' easily run to 45-90 minutes, discussing issues he's run into at high school in talks with His peers...

It's a joy to discuss a wide range of subjects with him, send him links and emails on a variety of topical issues and especially good to nudge him into questioning some of the extremely liberal knee-jerk beliefs he's surrounded with at home.
One of my best friends, and we're only 55 years' difference between us!

Find a kid and UN-brainwash them early!

Frank, consider the college kids today with their hatred of free speech, masquerading behind 'microaggressions,'
Compound that with the hordes who believe that Life Under Bernie's Rule would be better for All Of Us.

I don't know how to turn that ship.
