New surveys that seem to show millennials rejecting capitalism and for socialism. They really show a deep confusion that requires a strong dose of capitalist morality to cure.

In all areas we need to be taught or informed about truth, reason, logic and critical thinking.

"The people are only as good as they are allowed to be" was a statement a boss said to me before his departure...I knew what he meant; share knowledge that will hopefully encourage people to be the best they can be and stand by for questions and clarification.

Students seem ignorant of how much capitalism has done to make thier lives so very much incredible. Reason tv has done a nice piece (2 min) showing how hollywood hates capitalism. I show it to my students and then give a clear description of what free trade aka capitalism is and what it is not.
I read a book a few moths ago called "the myth of the rational voter" and one of thoughts that the author Bryan Caplan stated that jumped out to me was how Econ teachers should think about teaching fewer concepts, but teach them better, clearer, making more connections. And I agree, my kids have heard how wonderful communities are, and the benevolent government is there for us, free markets are mocked with the fire house auction video, it is pretty funny, yet sad. They spend 20 weeks in my class and I fly through trying to cover everything.
Good article, thank you mr Caplan, I plan on doing better.
