Seems that Libertarians are really LINO's - Libertarians In Name Only.

Watch the video starting at 30 sec. mark - and be amazed at the LINO's view of the 2nd Amendment. The "choice" is now between a dictator/socialist Trump, a Marxist moron Bernie, a member of the shitiest family in America - still un-convicted Hillary, and "I just want to be President" Johnson. There is a common threat between all of them, though - no philosophy or morals of any kind, among any of the prime flotsam in America.

Seems like all roads lead back to Hillary…. Heil Hillary, our next and last President!

    The concept of socialism is to steal other people's money. To do that, it has to be implemented where other people have money. That's why it attaches itself to countries that were doing well and then sucks them dry. Think of it as a virus - it is not quite alive, for it can only live while killing its host. Then it goes dormant until it finds the next host.

    I would fundamentally disagree with your statement above. First, the term "capitalism with a conscience." Capitalism is the most fair, equitable and productive system that humans have ever known. It has lifted several billion people out of abject poverty and misery that were the result of all other systems. Capitalism does not need a boost of "conscience" from other murderous systems.
    Second, Norway, NZ, etc., are socialist systems that are smart enough to allow a little bit of highly restricted semi free-market to boost their miserable socialist systems. They're also good at re-labeling propaganda, where the suffocating socialism is called "good," while the liberating capitalism is called "evil."

    If a person changes his view based on Reason, then he should be able to present that reason. Trump never did. If Trump was making a mistake in the past, he, or anyone else, cannot correct that mistake unless he admits to it. Trump never did. But realistically, Trump was anti-2A at the age of 50. That is a mature age (for most people); at that age a person has as much knowledge as he'll ever have (for all practical purposes). If Trump needed another 20 years to mature..., well, that doesn't bode for him too well. The truth, of course, is that he is a statist whho made his money in a statist system, but now he calculated that he can get more disenfranchised votes than statist vegetables like Rubio and Ryan.

Regurgitating; the same talking points again and again is good for wasting time I'll grant both of you that. But you could have read the files. The discussion started long before you bought your ticket.

    What socialist system does not have that. You may not use Norway, NZ etc as they are a capitalist economy which has or plans to implement some socialist policies.

    I had the benefit of private schooling, so the onset of government indoctrination was delayed for me. And socialism does not necessarily mean a direct command economy. The days of Stalin and Mao are over (I hope). Regulation and taxation are gentler, kinder means to accomplish the same goals.

    Hillary is an evil witch who doesnt deserve to even live in the USA. She doesnt "fight for us" at all, she "fights for herself only". The sooner the people who vote for her realize that, the better.

    At least Trump tells it like it is. We know where he is coming from, and its from a lot better place than Hillary.

    Sanders tends to be honest and anti-establishment too, but he is a real wacko when it comes to government. He should go live in Venezuela for a while to see how socialism has worked out in practice....

    The video you cited appears to be a stump speech.for Trump. In it he says very little substantial. It is a typical political speech to please the audience without revealing any of his opinions on the topic. .

    So? With four socialist candidates according to what I read we've now pinned down the placement of Libertarians. They no longer I guess have floatability? (There's one gallon.) Trouble is that leaves zero candidates for those who view the constitution as the center and I noted the objectivist party is not associated with the objectivists or have their endorsement. That leaves all 257 of them. out in the cold.

    What next? Second Gallong?

    What would it take spell it out - if you can? What is your sacred ground what can be put aside until alter. If you have one.

    Third gallon.

    Really what difference is there that is so earth shakingly different it would entice me to vote for that particular movement. Please do not say vowels especially if you are Spanish speaker.

    There is no mention at all, as far I know, anywhere in the Constitution, the Bill of Right or any relevant documents about the "right" to hunt. Only the right to defend yourself from enemies internal and external.

    The Libertarian Party has a history of applying principles in choosing candidates. If that continues, then Johnson either changes his VP choice or loses his chance to run as a Libertarian. imo, Petersen is overjoyed by this and his candidacy odds just improved immensely.
    If Johnson relents, chooses a liberty-loving VP, and rationally explains his mis-step, then he can still prevail.

    That's the point. Trump hasn't proven anything about his alleged "change." Based on all his past statist tendencies including support for gun laws and this very narrowly framed comment that only supports carry weapons for those approved after an application for permission, I think he is a statist weasel who is carefully misleading people in order to get support from a large group of voters for which he has no respect. It is reasonable to use caution and not to accept without question what a politician says when he is running for office, especially when it conflicts with what he said before he was running for office.

    Strug, You would have to be 80 yrs old to have avoided the gov't education that was designed to enslave you more over the creation of this system is over 103 yrs old when Woodrow Wilson first started working to implement it.

    On Socialism; you confuse Socialist and Capitalist; Capitalist needs to make a widget that is desirable and pay a wage that is acceptable to keep the needed quality of worker involved in production; whereas the socialist state just needs bodies to do what it wants when it wants...which is why it is so close to communism it is almost funny that people would want it.

    You can bad mouth Trump it is your right, but because the GOP was so weak it let a possible non-N-B-C run this republic [into the ground] for 8 yrs, remember it is said he was born on American soil, you want to give another corrupt politician, yes corrupt; he knows the U.S. Constitution by heart and as a 'lawyer' knows how law works as well.

    I'm with you, Herb. 50-some years back I did hunt squirrels, and then went hunting deer with a buddy. Saw only females (illegal targets there and then), pulled a bead on one just to see how it would feel, and knew I couldn't stand to pull the trigger. Unloaded by shooting a whiskey bottle way off in the woods, end of story.
    So in my book, guns are necessary for self-defense; less against criminals and much more against our Rulers.

    So I have to ask. Would you respect a person who changed his views based on REASON, or one who dogmatically sticks to a view regardless of information and fact?

    Next does running for President, mean by definition you MUST hold to 20 year old opinions regardless of said facts and changes in views based on REASON?

    Well said. I viewed the Libertarian ticket as a philosophical protest. With a certified statist on the Libertarian ticket, the philosophy is out the window. Perhaps Johnson thought that so many people are dissatisfied with all the choices that he now has a realistic chance, so let's flush the philosophy, along with principles and morals, and squeeze into the mainstream. I think he misjudged.

    I'd be much more comfortable with Trump if he had not been in favor of gun control in the past, and if he made it part of his platform to reverse all federal gun control laws to prove his committment to the real meaning of the 2nd amendment.
    I'd like to hear that from every candidate including Johnson or whoever is chosen at the Libertarian convention. If Johnson doesn't pick a non-statist VP, his Libertarian candidacy is finished.
    Trump's comment about concealed carry still leaves personal security as a priviledge controlled by unconstitutional federal laws. It's a red herring, not a support of the 2nd amendment.

    Which picking a VP with that attitude, does not say much for Gary Johnson's personal judgement on personal liberties. That to me makes him totally unfit for President.
