I was so excited to hear Napolitano was stepping down...and, then I heard the rest. UC is taking her. It is not easy living in California. I wonder what the trade-off was. I am depressed.

so far so good with the unrest... I have been wondering lately if CA might be having a bit of an attitude adjustment. I have noticed that my few left leaning friends have been a little quieter lately. Good luck to your daughter and her stoical shades.

Give me Petraeus running UC system any day over Nepal. I have no problem with Petraeus. I think he did his job. But, we are diverting...

Right! I get that, but, I just wonder where some of that 4X salary is coming from... a little donation, perhaps, to take her out of the DC picture! I don't know. Just saying.

I am not complaining...just a little depressed. I read Atlas in the 60's...so, because of hard work and and a little luck, I am retired now. I love living in CA and am not ready to walk away from it yet. But, I will if necessary. When I lived in Lake Tahoe...I lived on the Nevada side, where most people work in the gambling industry. This is the "season" and if he wants work...it should be out there. I strongly believe that I could find a job today doing something....if I really needed it. No sympathy for your friend...

You're in California? You know that you're feeding those that are destroying you right? I have a friend who lives in S. Lake Tahoe and you couldn't blast him out of there. I give him no sympathy for his choice to stay when he complains that he got laid off and can't find another job.
