Hmmm. makes you wonder about money.."full faith and credit" and all that. We have entered an era that is much like Russia was (and is), where the government is right, and it makes everything match what it says..

    Hello nickursis,

    It is straight out of the "Ministry of Truth" from Orwell's 1984.

    From Wikipedia- "Ministry of Truth...

    Senate House, London, where Orwell's wife worked at the Ministry of Information, was his model for the Ministry of Truth
    The Ministry of Truth is the propaganda ministry. As with the other Ministries in the novel, the Ministry of Truth is a misnomer and in reality serves the opposite of its purported namesake: it is responsible for any necessary falsification of historical events. In another sense, and in keeping with the concept of doublethink, the ministry is aptly named, in that it creates/manufactures "truth" in the Newspeak sense of the word. The book describes a willful fooling of posterity using doctored historical archives to show a government-approved version of events.

    As well as administering truth, the ministry spreads a new language amongst the populace called Newspeak, in which, for example, "truth" is understood to mean statements like 2 + 2 = 5 when the situation warrants."

    It seem's like modus operandi of most of this administration's agency spokespersons.

      OA , 1984 must be part of the handbook for our looter govt. That describes what happens when Obama opens his mouth he says something and the opposite is the truth. Sadly this will likely continue into the future ......unless Johnson.

        Gary "I am not just another old white guy" Johnson? The Libertarians had their share of discourse, but at least it was based on a better set of premises that either of the other two. Some speculation they may actually get to major party status this time (meaning 15-20% of the vote), but that is not enough to stop the madness...

            Exactly. Do you vote on principle or brute reality? Most Americans wouldn't know principle unless they were in school and it walked up to them to tell them to put a bra on, even if they are male. Other than that, 30 second sound bites and cheetos to vote...

                Oh, you must have missed the great high school controversy where a girl (who was probably well endowed), went braless to school, supposedly appropriately covered up, and was asked by the principal to put on a bra. A bunch of male students (go figure) decided this was a cause celebrity, and came to school with bras on in protest, and thus another vicious cycle of complaints was initiated. Personally, bra or none, her boobs are her property, to be coddled or not, as long as they are under something that meets a basic standard of propriety (I.e. not topless in class) it is not their perview or under their control. The bathroom thing could be easily solved with a unisex,"take your own chances" one, in addition to the other two. The cost would be born by making it coin operated, so those that have imposed their needs on the rest can carry the burden of the implementation.

                    Would not fly in the PC world, however, I lean towards Heinlein's philosophy that it is an individuals responsibility and self determined ethic as to the whole nudity thing. It also involves consideration of the impact on others, and their own needs as well. However, if a girl has something draped over her, it should be no ones concern whether she has a bra on or not, unless something is hanging out, then ask them to put it in. No biggie.

      O.A., yes indeed, I read 1984, and it is chilling to see that they can get away with this type of stuff. More reason to add to the huge pile of reasons to reject all these clowns and call for a complete overhaul of our system. Not that we will see it, but someday it must happen. Thank you.

    The State Dep't. cannot find the person who gave the order. They know who did the deed. But they don't know who told him to do it. What a truckload of B.S.! With all the resources at their command they cannot trace down who the order-giver was? The act is bad. The cover-up is worse. It is treason, pure and simple. Our government is so corrupt, and the media is corrupt right along with it. The 3 year old boy and the gorilla made news in a big way for four days, while almost no one has heard much of this story.

      Because the standard is now to spin it, then kill it. The right wing media squeals like a pig being gutted, then goes to the next offensive thing, with no real pressure ever brought to bear. Then the current Empire continues to do whatever they want, as they have no real sense of honor or truth, just arrogant exercise of power. Our government is truly corrupt and base. No ethics, or honesty, and have no relation to the Constitution. That should be reason enough to scrap the whole thing.

          That is part of the problem, when you see connections, their defense is to ridicule the person until the withdraw. Very few people who are independent will put up with the BS and have just sidelined themselves. Thus we always have a battle of BS between the remainder. This situations is so abusive that if no one rises to the top and pushes some reaction, then they will see their way clear to complete fabrication for the masses.

            I have to admit that for each election that I have been old enough to vote in. I was always baffled by the choices. With more experience watching the primaries over the years , I became aware that the media seemed to pick the candidates.

            The next befuddlement was who ever was elected the same govt people were chosen to the cabinet or other power positions.
            These people (if you will ) All came from the same "think tanks" . These are also the same unelected,
            that send American soldier's to hell, I mean war. Everyone should ask who was it that wanted and funded the League of Nations then the UN , the CFR , the Carnegie Institute.
            There is a shadow govt and they don't just let things go by happenstance, no they plan , they connive they use pull for their continued power trip.
            Well For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge them and the secret societies the have devolved from.

            Now I'll wait for the thumbs downs.

              Nope, you have described the life cycle of government as we know it, and the conspiracies behind them. The mere fact that no one can prove that some powerful creeps are pulling the strings of the inept morons we have been saddled with in the last 50 years, is not proof of their non existence. My point is, when enough "coincidences", and "events" happen that are just too crazy to ascribe to "just dumb ass politicians", SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE instigated it. Vietnam is a great example, we never really had a reason to be there, yet over 10 years a bunch of our citizens were forced to go there...yet nothing ever changed except the money.

                I heard a interview (that unfortunately I have tried to find again with no luck). So I am unable to verify
                The person was in charge of munitions in WWII at Okinawa. Just after the Japs surrendered 2 ships arrived from the US filled with weapons. He asked his CO if he should send them back to America. He was told to send 1 to Korea and 1 to Vietnam.

    Good point. A comment about Russia. the Kremlin would erase the history when Stalin threw someone in the Gulog. The saying was no one knows the future and in Russia you don't know the past. Thanks for the post. People are blind to this behavior.

      Exactly. They were well famous for "editing" anything deemed not correct for whatever version of the Party line was in vogue. They actually edited out a Cosmonaut, somewhat as if we had made the Mercury 7 into the Mercury 6, and insisted it was always that way. The problem today is they can never find every copy of every post or picture and it will always leak. Idiots.

      Could be, I am not a shrink, but then, I don't have a lot of respect for them either. I am sure if there were some who cared, they would diagnose this administration (well, actually most since the 40's) as dysfunctional with several disabilities.

      And any time someone even accuses them because the facts can only be explained by that, they get labeled "conspiracy theorists" and disregarded. Therefor, there are no checks and balances any more, just unfettered ability to do whatever is on their agenda. We have been totally emasculated and neutered as a people.
