Howard announced his intention to run for Governor of New York in 1994 as the Libertarian Party candidate so his strong Second Amendment stand does not surprise me.
There will always be sheep, and there will always be wolves, but when the sheep want to eliminate the sheepdog who's the only defense against the wolves, the game is up.
Too bad Sirius XM DMCA'd the YouTube clip. I think much of gun control legislation is government trying to minimize the threat to itself from the people, at least from a progressive point of view. We have plenty of gun laws on the books, but they never seem to be enough. And they believe that if they somehow outlaw certain types of guns post hoc, it will make the country safer. The problem is only law abiding weapon owners would accept this prohibition, the criminals would just ignore it. And now you have armed criminals (wolves) with a disarmed public (Sheep) relying on the police (sheepdogs) that won't be coming to save them.
I don't know, usually he is not too concerned with how anyone views him, I find he is pretty straightforward and honest. Says f@#k a lot too... He never seemed to linked to any one side of the spectrum, and never impressed me as being tied to any set of agendas but his own.
Obviously what Howard says is correct. Does Howard really believe what he says, or is he trying to make self defense advocates look bad by association with Howard?
