Feds raid a 91 year old man's private collection he's had for decades...

Not much needs to be said... The people who "tipped" the feds to some of his items in his collection act like they're doing everyone a favor...

Welcome to Nazi Germany kids... where your neighbors & friends rat you out to the authorities... who are then more than willing to confiscate your property, or you if they see fit.

    Let me clarify what I said; the person deserving of the anal probe is the person who said, "no private person should have"

    This is overkill and over-reach on so many levels. The arrogance of the tattle tail, the arrogance of the FBI, and the arrogance and moocher glee of the museum curators salivating over treasures they might get. No one complained about the trigger device missing-it was probably part of a scrap pile. Collectors always know how to project the value of something the owner sees as valueless. It's part of collecting and part of the production of man's mind. That a lifetime later, everyone else gets up to speed-well too damned bad. You had your chance...That trigger is probably cataloged and ready for display at the Smithsonian-thugs

    As far as the trigger device goes, that would depend on how it came to be in his possession. If he "stole" it from the Manhattan Project (meaning that he took it without authorization) then it was gov't property and could be seized.

    The remainder of the collection probably could have been handled more delicately with a stipulation that the items be returned to their heirs upon death or something similar. To just confiscate them because laws have changed over time is insane.

    The phrase "no private person should have" should be a red flag, to shove a microscope up this person's anus and after a thorough investigation, award him a life term in Gitmo.
