I had seen an article just recently that says there was now believed to have been 2 magnetic poles at one point, which added tot he confusion of the flip timing.

Existence isn't necessarily out of human control but rather out of control of thought as a causative agent. That does not mean that thoughts cannot be used to guide ones physical actions, but rather that thought such as mathematics and all other concepts cannot be reified. They exist not as what they refer to in objective reality, but rather as complex electrical and chemical ensemble patterns. Those who try to reify mind stuff live in fantasy worlds.
Humans do cause many differences in natural world that would otherwise have happened some other so called natural way. That is why human actions are called artificial as opposed to natural actions though in reality all actions are natural because humans are part of the natural world and not some kind of pestilence needing to be exterminated. If there is a big change in the sun's activity, humans will most likely find a work around solution and not just whine and lay down and die like those who see huge and horrible climate change with everyone giving up and dying.

The other thing that should be considered is...where were we located in the Galaxy and the local universe 26K years ago...assuming there is such a thing as a cosmic year and if so, what electromagnetic influence may play a part in what these scientist are theorizing about.
Scientist generally do not consider long time cycles and only acknowledge short term cycles.
Of course...how the hell would we know everything going on not just on earth but in the solar system, 26K years ago...we only have the Mayan Calendar to go by.

It is more like what physical laws describe it as doing. Physical laws are mental models or descriptions as to how physical processes proceed and do not make them proceed. They proceed by whatever properties the existing stuff have. Those properties are independent of whatever minds believe they are and act a-consciously. Even, what one believes to be a conscious act to make something happen, does not happen because a brain has a property of consciousness. Consciousness is aware of the action and might give the idea of having been the cause of the action, but the properties of all the matter in the body are just doing what they do within certain ranges of action with respect some high order inhibitory mental states in the brain. There is some indication, in psychology for example, that the body begins an action before a person becomes aware of choosing to act, kind of faking you into believing that you choose the action at the time you become aware of it. It isn't just an I thought of doing that and decided to do it at that instant. Try telling or thinking to move a finger. It will not move just by thinking it will move, but only when it moves will it move. It is done subconsciously and not by being aware of the process while it is being done, i.e., not by consciously moving the finger. It is kind of a conscious giving permission for the brain to move the finger.

What we all have to get is that we do not sit still in the galaxcy nor the universe...we follow our sun at some 400 thousand miles per hour and as we progress on our cyclical path we are effected and influenced by different things. There seems to be an electromagnetic connection between things and let's say one of those tride and true connections dies, explodes or evolves...that would mean our cycle would change. A possible example like this would be Magnetic Reversals...we used to have them on a regular basis...but it seems that cycle died...haven't had one in 780K years when they used to be every 250K...(we get many different figures here...this one is from the Foundation for the study of cycles)

I don't know, solar time is much longer than anything we can deal with, and the minimums are a reduction in output. They were talking about a long term change that will last for a long, long time. They also said the sunspot issue would disappear, which would mean no more solar flare threats. Not a bad forecast, especially if it kills off the climate change crowds...
