Manufacturing has been becoming less important and innovation more important for a long time.
Maybe regulators in the US won't approve Olli, but somewhere they will.
I actually think the whole notion of countries retaining their standard of living is dying with the notion of rich countries and poor countries. When we were kids US was a rich country and Ethiopia was a poor country. Now it's more about if you can find a way to use these new technologies to help people, not which country you're born in.
