as a 28-year reserve retiree, I have been advised that
I should try them, but have avoided it because of the
reports of graft and corruption. . we have at least one
gulcher who has experienced genuine help with the
VA, but that's the only good report I've ever heard. -- j

    No.

A while back I needed a hernia operation. 20 years after my service I attempted use the VA to save a few dollars - routine surgery. I was asked a ridiculous amount of personal questions that had little to no bearing on my honorable veteran status. The end result, the VA has been morphed from a veteran benefit to a form of welfare...I earned too much.

Recently, perhaps two months ago, the VA contacted me to inform me of new "criteira" for consideration. I told them to kiss my ass.

Only the fed gov can't enter into a signed agreement and change the terms without the other party being at fault.

    bastards.
