I did. There are Siamese cats and a Mexican dog. The cats are evil and the dog is funny and those are supposedly racist stereotypes. No mention was made of the portrayals of Germans, Scots, and Italians. It was one of the charms of the movie, which was the first my son ever saw and was his favorite as a child. We used to watch it every week while I made spaghetti. We still have the VCR tape (remember those?). If showing cultural differences and idiosyncracies in a whimsically humorous light is now racist, then we've gone way beyond the bend. This idiocy has given me an inspiration. I'm going to pull out Lady and the Tramp and watch it with my son (now 17) for old times' sake the next time I make spaghetti.
