I cut back my purchases from Amazon some time ago, and curtailed them even more when they forced sellers not to sell anything with Lincoln's War against states rights' confederate images on them. They are part of the thought police. They also don't allow sales of firearms, ammo, liquor, cigarettes, or eyeglasses. At least the fedgov hasn't forced them to sell things they don't want to sell... yet.

I went to Amazon and there were just under 2K reviews. I suspect Hillary supporters will love it and everyone else will either hate it, or just go "meh"... I don't think it will change ANYONE'S mind for liking the book, however, I think the thinking person will start to question how the give-aways will actually work.

Exactly! One reason I disregard any reviews for movies or books.

I get a lot from Amazon, and I use their reviews, as usually they indicate something useful, like "I took the damn thing apart and it exploded" or some other neat fact. I disregard any reviews for movies or books, because when you look at it, it is always garbage like "How wonderful" a movie is, or a book, that has yet to be released. Everything is manipulated, and it is impossible to find just plain, factual truth. And when it comes to the Beast, it isn't even a consideration.

Ive only requested removal for the one where they admit having never read my book before dumping on it. It such a small number but its the point of the matter.

As far as good reviews == "good for amazon": not necessarily. Amazon still benefits if you buy a different book/product from their site instead. They also benefit if negative reviews prevent you from having a bad experience with a product because it increases the customer confidence level of their ranking and recommendation system - which leads to more sales overall.

I mostly agree, but they should flag for review phrases like "I didn't read this but.." regardless of the rating or "verified" purchase status. I also think a flag for "not reviewing the product" would be quite helpful.

Regardless of content, Amazon has a financial interest in the reviews/rating being helpful. At least being able to filter out and/or "reviews" which are not abut the product would enhance the quality of the system.

My son and daughter-in-law buy new diapers for their young son on Amazon. I had no idea that Amazon was selling used diapers.

I buy my underwear there. It's cheaper even including the shipping. One of their interesting retailing perks are customer reviews. If that cannot be trusted, then it puts into doubt anything else they may claim. Including the underwear.
