Every time I read about reparations I wonder about the Japanese Americans wrongfully imprisoned during WW2. Reparations were paid but it doesn't seem to come up much. Maybe because FDR signed the detention order. I also wonder why America is singled out as the only country that shows any prejudice towards anyone.

Remember, the Crusades to root out heresy of the one true religion caused a lot of people never to be born and the world needs to make it up to everyone of them.

Well, slavery in America was mainly a southern institution, so any reparations due should be paid with Confederate money.

You use logic. They use feelings to get what they want. But still, follow the money and power grabs. Who tends to gain the most from the taking and doling of every race warring dollar?

So why are so many politicians trying to force other people to pay reparations today for things that happened generations ago? Are they that stupid?

It doesn't...sins of the fathers, so to speak. Shit happens,,,another way to say it. The best we can do as a nation is to create a level playing field, provide opportunities without bias, and allow each individual to pursue their own dream/happiness.

History shows that the Crusades were about a lot more than rooting our heresy (and it didn't start out as one either). Prior to the Crusades the muslims were conquering and raiding European states to take Europeans as slaves. They conquered lands as far into Europe as deep as Spain before the Euro's pushed back by individual lords funding and deploying private troops to defend their holding and take land from the invaders. Seeing the opportunity for plunder the Church got involved, using vengeance, greed and religion to bind the splintered factions, and sought to retake Jerusalem.

If we include religious persecution I think some of that Middle East oil money should come right back here.

They got a president to destroy all who are productive, wreck the savings of everyone who didn't waste it all on consumption and (quoting George Carlin) "cell phones that'll make pancakes and rub their balls."
One total disaster of a POTUS is more than enough reparation for people who descended from ancestors 150 years ago who were slaves.

Yeah, but would they have to prove their lineage back? Or simply hand out cash to everyone of color? Would they have any burden of proof in how they were discriminated against? That's all my point is, that and how they would actually prove that I or you or anyone discriminated against anyone. Just seems like it would be a quagmire unless of-course SCOTUS is filled with all liberal judges at some future date. Close enough already IMHO. : )

Women suffered longer, and the elderly are still suffering. Nearly everyone is enslaved by their home mortgages to bankers who created the money they lent from nothing.

We actually ended it here at the cost of 600k lives on both sides. If anyone deserves reparations it would be the families of the soldiers that died settling that issue.

(Even though slavery was a convenient scapegoat for that war, it was really about other issues)

Well, obviously from current tax payers. So basically a bunch of people who had nothing to do with slavery and who were raised to be respectful and tolerant should have to pay for the mistakes of people from hundreds of years ago.
