The jobs report is a perfect example of fake news

Folllowing up on Dobriens article on Fake News, here is one that shows how the government engenders it with their "data" that is presented in so many variations, you can either say we are all unemployed, or all working our a@@es off. Just pick and choose your fact. Same thing with the vaunted Consumer Price Index, probably one of the ultimate fake news stories out there.

BLS Report? Perhaps we just drop the L and call it the BS Report? Only in politics can anything which true be called a fake and it really is. Confused? They like it that way. I still haven't gotten over when I learned what base line budgeting was. Try that on your own budget and see how it works. Disaster!

Who ever said that numbers don't lie did not know a thing about governments.
Oh darn, Trump has China angry with him already like we couldn't see that coming. He has the left even more angry over this and all we should be doing right now is following the money.

Nothing but smoke and mirrors, and the liberal media is trumpeting it from every roof top as proof that Hussein has been economically successful.
It all reminds me of surrealistic scenes from "Alice in Wonder Land".

The "transparency" the Liar-In-Chief promised at the start of his regime can under one definition refer to something you can see through to the point of not seeing it at all.
    "To hide" in other words.

I like the working people / totally people version. Total people need to eat. Working people provide food.

It is interesting that this whole concept of "Fake News" has come up since Hillary got her ass whooped! Never was an issue before. I think this is all an attempt to explain why she lost the election....because after all we know that the rascally republicans totally control the media don't we!!!

Yup. I know it is hard to accept, but they are not the pillars of wisdom and light they would like you to believe.

I would think you would need to find where the Fed hides the report, I am sure it would be in there they mentioned it is like, 36 pages or so. The way they word everything is the key, you can take 20 data sets, and depending on how you link them and sort, you can have 100 conclusions, each one is "fact".The issue is the Fed has created over the years, a lot of these "reports" and they use their own definitions, which are never clearly stated n public media, so you get this ability to pull something from it, and call it "truth". Totally out of context, and therefor, meaningless.

There is another fact I didn't see mentioned in the article. Anyone on unemployment for over 6 months is dropped from the "active" pool. There a a fair number of people on unemployment for over 6 months that are still actively looking but are not being counted as unemployed. The group should not be excluded.
Since there are no published numbers on this group, it is difficult to tell the true impact they would have on the "Government" number.

    Hi Nickursis,
I just read the article and you are right you could pull many different conclusions.
Regarding upward mobility I have sensed for a decade or so a lack of. I recently received Imprimus from Hillsdale College and that was the topic. Their evidence clearly showed we the US were about tied with Great Britain for the worst upward mobility in the world. I guess the govt. with these bull ship statistics are saying "don't believe your lying eyes " Thanks for adding this
    Post.
