    In my mind, Sowell is a genius. The fact that he converted from Marxism--I think--is proof.

    All Democrats need to do to justify their existence is to have, or otherwise promote, a "warm heart". The only problem is that in order for government to take care of them, government of necessity will be taking care of everyone, and it's practical consequence is the amount of bureaucratic glow-in-the-dark duck tape. It's moral consequence, of course, is loss of pride in oneself, and dependence on a "sacrifice".
