Some Californians want Hitlery to rule them so badly they are proposing secession.
Let them go, and let them take the northeast corridor with them. All hail Empress Hitlery!

Well, they think America is wealthy enough to give it to them, unlike their own birthplace. They haven't figured out that Americans have (in the past) worked for their wealth.
Yet, I think for the most part, the LEGAL immigrants have a strong work ethic. Unfortunately they also adhere to authoritarian types of religious beliefs.

What do I think will happen?...Hmm, well, I think that whom ever invests in the future beach properties in AZ, UT and NV will make a killing once CA is cut loose and floats off into the sunset.

    In 2013 at least;
According to Wikipedia(1) they recieved $343.7 billion in federal aid, but according to http://USGovernmentrecenue.com (2) California added $334.4 billion to the Government.

Any reasonable person would look at this and decide that a deficit of $9.3 billion in one year being covered by doing little more than remaining in a group you don't entirely like would be not a great price to pay.
Then again deficit spending being what it is and Cali already being in debt a great deal, perhaps they won't mind shouldering that burden.
I'm of the mind we should support their withdrawal, if they so decide. I would hate to lose California from the union for many reasons, but I believe an independent California would collapse and the lesson learned by it's failure would not be lost on all.

Not the best references, but my connection is poor today and I'm sick.

    (2) http://www.usgovernmentrevenue.com/fe...

    Edit:
I failed to mention the impact of interstate commerce, loss of a significant entertainment industry, loss of national corporations with branches and headquarters in California, increased travel restrictions and new border control, and a ton of other larger and smaller economic augmentations caused by a seperation of a state from the union that would all impact the numbers. It would be one heck of an experiment.

Mexico no doubt wants to reunite our State of California with Mexico and call it Alta California. As I believe they do.

Yeah, the wall that would border Oregon, Nevada and Arizona with Arizona the corner of Trump's Mexican wall.
Yikes! That's roughly half the length of Trump's wall whereas the Californian-Mexican line is almost nothing in comparison.
Y'all just gotta know those illegals are gonna keep on comin' whether the Pelosian People's Paradise becomes a part of Mexico are not.

I agree the feds would never let California go free of their control. Looking at the formation of the country, there was a major land grab going on with the feds taking over all the land from atlantic to pacific ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.

Also cut off the WATER and ELECTRICITY. In less than a week they would be begging to come back. Make them wait at least 10 years so that they learn self-suffencenty. Also refuse to allow immigration from California to America.

Maybe we make a deal with Mexico to use their coastal lands to build a better seaport without the stupid USA unions

If we stop giving freebies to the illegals, we wont need a wall. No more free health care, no more miinimum wage, no more free housing and food stamps, etc. We offer all these things, and then wonder why the mexicans swim the rio grande in winter to get here. Its our fault, and perhaps Trump will fix that.

Mexico wouldnt want california (again) if it was in debt. And the citizens of california mostly came FROM mexico because they wanted the goodies of america. Why go back to mexico? California would just go the way of venezuela, OR perhaps it would see the lights of the remaining states governed by Trump, and want back in.

I agree, let them float free with Hillary as their queen. Cut off all foreign aid to them also.

California is one thing, but some have wanted to bid good-bye to Washington and Oregon, also. That would landlock us from the Pacific Ocean.

But maybe I would want to carve out the proposed State of Jefferson, with an extra eastern corridor toward Idaho. That would give us land enough to develop a seaport to replace Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.

if California did vote to leave the Union and congress agreed to this action and the President signed the necessary legislation (all huge assumptions) how long until the Hispanic population of California portioned the government of Mexico to Annex them into Mexico? I'm guessing about 3 to 5 years dependent upon the influx of Mexican citizens into the Republic of California.
At that point what is the most likely scenario?
    1. The US allows such an Action,
    2. The Rep of CA allows it's citizens to actually patition such an action,
    3. Some other country gets involved
    4. Other actions
    5. No such petition will be generated.

What do you people of the Gulch think would happen?

I believe that North East Corridor refers to New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts with possibly New Jersey and Maryland included. Oregon and Washington remain with thenunion and provide the Pacific sea ports.

After Trump frees the slaves from repression in CA the feds will be able to use LA, SD, and SF again (with no votes or freedom for the losers for 80 years or so.) The feds will never allow anyone to escape from the statist version of slavery.

One thing that the Trump/Hitlery election proved is that money isn't everything in politics. If it were, I might do a little interference to ensure California did secede.
