It is only a rumor. Besides Hel would have turned 3PO straight with all that SHINNY gold covering her body and this steely eyes. Didn't the Mad Scientist give her a soul which means she could be one with the Force?

I saw this topic and brought it to Phil's attention. He tweeted he will be debunking this as well. It does claim to be different from a Pelletier collector, but is still violates thermodynamics to work as they claim.

Not surprised but still a really cool concept. Maybe the technology from these MOF's could be used to actually create one.

Not likely. For a device like this to be useful, you need sunlight, humidity, and warm air. Otherwise the process would be so inefficient, you'd probably gain about 1/10th the claimed results. The places that are inhabitable are usually missing 1 or more of these things.

For example, you could put something like this in the desert where there is little water. There is so little humidity, that you'd better spend the energy created bringing in water from somewhere else. Or, like Sam Kinison said: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0q4o... .

Love Metropolis...although the coupling with Hel may be problematic, as it is rumored that CP3O may be gay.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I saw something on this about a year ago. The one I saw was a personal portable device, essentially a self filling canteen. At that time it was being bandied about as a year or 2 off from production. This makes me think that the one I saw was wishful thinking. God knows I would LOVE to have something like that.

Have you seen the movie Metropolis ?? It was made in 1927, silent movie and they have a female C3PO, 1927, did Lucas steal this. Great plot for a remake breed her and C3PO.

All true, but competing liberal interests, like saving poor people in foreign countries, clean water for Mexico and everywhere else, no power used, less global warming gases, etc. So they will have to fight among themselves, while someone gets rich...

    Hi Nickursis,
Thanks for the post. With regard to the table of cash, One can only imagine how the heads are spinning trying to figure an effective tax and the global warming effect we will be causing by lowering the humidity . Sarcastically , with out humor but as a prophesy. Alas the last thing the environazi's want is for a lot of people to have fresh water.

Awesome, now someone needs to invent the droids for real...Starwars actually does reflect future technology just as Star Trek did....

Now all we need are a few protocol droids to keep them up and running... ;) (geek reference)

Kalifornnia alone will be able to great amounts from it as their coastal humidity is twice what they tested for.
