Not even close, CG. The science is the climate has always been changing and always will change. The problem is the big government collectivist controller types will use any "science" or "pseudo-science" to frighten the citizenry into doing what they are told. It's not about science at all. It's about politics and political control.

No more "transparently political" than declaring "... President Obama's success and lack of scandals ...", except the list in the book is well cited.

"pretending there really was an empowered successor Libyan government in control was necessary to prove her decision was right."
This is the first explanation I have heard for qui bono in mishandling of the response to the attack. That's is very interesting.

The Benghazi attack went on for nearly 14 hours, and the two Navy SEALs were killed in the last hours of the attack. Military forces were ready to go within the first two hours, and were less than two hours away. Aircraft could have arrived faster than that. The ambassador and his subordinate were killed early in the attack, so no help would have arrived in time to save them. Both air and ground unit personnel said they were ready to go early, but were never given the go order. I blame Sec. of State Clinton, because she had been the instigator of the effort to take down Ghaddafi, and pretending there really was an empowered successor Libyan government in control was necessary to prove her decision was right. The sham of deferring to the feeble token government to permit U.S. forces in country caused the deaths of the two SEALs. I have experience in military decision actions, and have no doubt that rescue forces had to have been held back.

Communists have always tried to use guilt, while feeling none for the populations they have either starved or killed to keep power. Even the green agenda in our schools came from Gorbachev, making children feel guilt for things that were not happening, and selling it to us as Earth Day,which is Vladimir Lenin's birthday. How insulting. Their power has always been derived by the persecution of other people, and is maintained in the same manner. Of course Obama sympathizes with them, he is a pwoer hungry leech. He has so many skeletons in his closet any Republican would have been crucified for even the one going back to his Hawaii days.

Why are you here? You do not have any interest in reality and have swallowed the MSM narrative. Next thing you will be calling Islam a religion of peace. The only rational conclusion is you are a troll.

I avoid any books that say on the cover so-and-so is the worst in history. It's mainly because I don't think there's one ranking of people in any job function from worst to best. People have different abilities and failings.

The second reason is because it sounds transparently political. I have heard people claim that every US president in my adult life is outrageously bad, the worst in history. That's 5 out of 45, so if there were a deterministic merit ranking, there's an 11% chance one was right. I think the notion is silly.

"concerted effort to try to hide the fact they couldn't track the guns"
I haven't followed it, but it sounds plausible.

"Not too good for a supposed constitutional scholar."
I know. He essentially said if Congress wouldn't do its job (according to him), he would find ways to have the Executive Branch do it. I wanted to ask him how he squares that with the Constitution. I disagreed with this and any expansion of Executive power.

    "violating the war powers act"
Congress has the power to declare war. [Sarcasm]A US president would deploy weapons of war without Congress. Unthinkable!![/Sarcasm] I do not blame President Obama for this problem.

"could have saved the lives of the two SEALs."
This never rang true to me. It sounds much more like when any project has a problem it's so easy to go back and say, "We'll I would have caught and fixed that bug before releasing it if it had been me doing it." Also, I never understood why the motive for the attack mattered. It's like his critics are reaching for anything they can twist into a scandal.

"Obama seemed to regard anyone not fully supporting him as racist,"
I see not a hint of evidence for this. It doesn't even seem remotely true.

It sounds like you're saying, "Why can't science pick one answer, preferably a desirable one, and stick to it?"

The way I say that is the Founders tried to set up a system of limited gov't power and scope. The built in protections are not working. I do not have the solution. I don't think the problem is if the Republicans, Democrats, or individual politicians just behaved righteously the problems would disappear. We have a system where voting yourself a piece of a big gov't pie is a fact of life. I'm intrigued by ideas like Convention of the States because I see the system the Founders set up as being broken. I would rather fix it in a calm way rather than in a crisis.

Exactly. They have to make things up from whole cloth or just keep repeating historical events as if they were scandals.

The success of this communist democracy is beyond anything I thought I would see before I died. There were so many "trigger points" that I was certain America would not pass without recognizing the destruction ahead. None of them created much of a stir and the country continues toward its slow whimpering collapse.

Are you being sarcastic, pulling our legs, or are you just plain nuts? Lack of scandals...OMGosh!
    How about the following:
    1. The stimulus money that vanished
    2. Operation Fast and Furious that Gulcher, AJAshinoff mentioned
    3. Obama Care
    4. IRS targeting the Tea Party and other Conservative groups
    5. Benghazi
    6. Iran nuclear deal
    7. VA death-list
    8. Solyndra....crony capitalism
    Just to name a few.

    We agree on something. Wow!
The Jackass Party and the RINO Party is my way of calling them as I see 'em.
Overall, the GOP now being in power has not impressed me at all.
Looters loot because they are allowed to loot.

" Those are the looters who were the ruination of the world in Atlas Shrugged. "
I think the ratio of borrowing now to proposed borrowing by Republicans is a good ratio for overall support of gov't size and intrusiveness; 1000 billion / 400 billion = 2.5. So we can have statist Democrats or Republicans 2.5 times worse. I don't get fired up over either option.

But using Obama's social logic, if some brutal gang extorts a huge amount of capital from a business and uses a very small portion of the loot to get someone else to build THAT road and bridges, then the business owner didn't build THAT roads and bridges.
Funny thing is, social logic seems to claim that everyone and no one builds them. (double think that!)

Funny how its business' and business owners who pay the lion's share of the taxes that paid for those roads and bridges ....
In addition, they also have to pay for their own private security and fire prevention measures because they can't depend on the "public" services to get there in time.

You have to keep the fact in mind that business's and business owners pay the lion's share of the taxes that paid for those roads and bridges .... In addition, they also pay for the police force that probably can't stop a robbery so they have to pay for their own private security measures as well!

IMHO Climate change in the nut shell (I've said this in the Gulch before):

Ca. 1975 progressive mantra: "Global cooling, global cooling! We're headed for a new ice age and NYC will be under a sheet of ice by 2000 AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" "Your rights need to be restricted, government has to grow and take charge, and your taxes must be raised to combat it!!"

Ca. 1995 progressive mantra when the above surely ain't gonna happen: "Global warming, global warming! The ice caps are going to melt and NYC will be under an ocean of water by 2020 AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" "Your rights need to be restricted, government has to grow and take charge, and your taxes must be raised to combat it!!"

Ca. 2014 progressive mantra when the above surely ain't gonna happen: "Climate change, climate change! We don't know exactly what's going to happen, BUT WHATEVER IT IS IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" "Your rights need to be restricted, government has to grow and take charge, and your taxes must be raised to combat it!!"

Of course climate change has been going on since the beginning of the planet and will continue to change until the planet ends. The "progressives" know this, we know this, and they know we know this. Their goal is to push the false narrative "ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!" so you won't complain when bigger more oppressive government, with themselves as leaders - of course, is forced upon you.

Anyone who has ever built a business from scratch, tried to get a patented new product manufactured, or come up with a new service, knows the stupidity of that. As to the rest, who believed that all you needed to do was open your doors and people would line up for your products or services. That was why George Eastman failed at his first few tries, and DuPont was selling shares on street corners in Saginaw. But those ways no longer exist because of what Ayn Rand perceived in the above sentence.

Based on Comey's testimony, it would appear Obama scandals are about to be exposed. In closed testimony, it appears he amplified his discussion of Loretta Lynch's insistence that the FBI not call the Clinton email investigation an investigation, saying there was evidence she agreed to squelch the investigation in her meeting with Bill Clinton. Was this entirely her idea, or was she encouraged by the Obama White House?

Fast and Furious "new" (suppressed?) evidence shows that DOJ and President Obama's aides lied to people about the source of the gun used to kill the Border Patrol member. Email correspondence shows there was a concerted effort to try to hide the fact they couldn't track the guns like they thought they could.

Obama hasn't fared well with the SCOTUS, either. The ACA mandate changed to a tax; rulings on immigration, clean air and water, warrantless searches of digital information, labor relations board appointments without Senate approval, and numerous others went against him due to constitutional violations. Not too good for a supposed constitutional scholar.

Then there's the illegal attack on Libya, violating the war powers act, followed by Benghazi, with evidence mounting that the President himself refused to send a rescue force until the mission received approval from the titular new Libyan government. That could have saved the lives of the two SEALs. That was followed by the lies told about how the incident was the result of a video and not a terrorist act.

The cold, hard fact is that no one wanted to hold the first black President under too close scrutiny, for fear of being charged as racist. It didn't work, as Obama seemed to regard anyone not fully supporting him as racist, and his supporters eagerly took up the cry, obsessing over it until it lost some of its impact.

Gosh, CG. You must not have been paying attention. You can get caught up to speed by starting on Amazon with the book (Kindle if you'd prefer) "The Worst President In History..." by Mark Margolis and Mark Noonan.

What Obama seems to have meant is "If You've Got A Business, You Didn't Build That Roads And Bridges"
Big governments have historically offered to take over the building of roads and bridges (as well as just about everything else.) An offer businesses and just about everyone else couldn't refuse (fear of jail or worse.) Now we just mostly sit back and watch the purposely overly complex schemes of extortion (progressive [regressive], anti-free market, spirit squashing taxations.)
