Trump denounces socialism in UN speech, greeted by silence (surprise!)

"The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented but that socialism has been faithfully implemented. From the Soviet Union to Cuba to Venuzela, wherever socialism or communism has been adopted it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure."

Can you imagine Hillary or Obama (or any other Republican presidential candidate) saying this at the UN? It should be entertaining to see the mainstream news media digest and discuss this statement.

    Yes Mamaemma,
I am afraid you are correct. I might have exchanged common sense with courage
to be more accurate regarding the MSM.

Trump only became a professional politician when he~whoa!~new thought.
Last I heard he's not taking a paycheck.
Guess Trump is a professional in the sense that we the taxpayers pay for his transportation, Secret Service, food, board and all the perks.

The seductive element of socialism is its seeming simplicity. People dislike complexity, and capitalism, with the constant change created by competition and innovation, is very complex. Adam Smith essentially said it was a hopeless venture to try to contain or control a free market, calling the seemingly mysterious way the flow of goods and services changed so rapidly the "magic hand" of enterprise.

Having been in contact with many successful people over the years, the most amazing thing I found was how downright stupid many of them were, recipients of blind luck which they interpreted as their own brilliance. Stupid people like simple solutions, which is why you seemingly mysteriously find wealthy people who benefited from the riches of capitalist society the most passionate supporters of socialism.

As a retired teacher, you are right..unfortunately. Case in point...some dimwit Snowflake is angry with Hobby Lobby for having a couple of cotton plants in a display. That, along with banana peels in trees, is just too much for the little darlings.

And all those who call Trump a buffoon, are the real buffoons. That is the most profound statement ever made before the UN. And, it wasn't made by a Kennedy, a Clinton, an Obama, the intellectual elite. But, was made by the so-called clown. Wise up Republicans. For a change you've got a winner.

Socialism like Communism is a fraud. Its real purpose is to provide a path to power for a self proclaimed "intellectual elite" to rise to positions of ultimate authority. It's just a replacement for monarchy and it relies on "useful idiots" to achieve those goals.

Yeah, no one is supposed to step behind that UN podium to spill the beans about the obvious.
By golly, oih say, it just isn't done!

Any social system that can only be maintained by threat of force is fundamentally flawed. No one will ever force you to become a capitalist.

The speech was great, I like the single salutary clapper in the audience after that line; wish I knew who that was? It was a very long pause before others joined in...

We are headed towards socialism ourselves; if anyone here has school aged children, you know what I’m speaking about. The schools have stopped teaching the positive ideology of capitalism but have replaced it with scorn and ugly hatred. They teach our children about the positives of the collective and sacrifice. The snowflake generation will usher in a sweeping socialist agenda and capitalism in America will die.

I’ve taught my children but the 99% has not…

I think that I heard or read someplace that over 70% of the countries in the UN are controlled by dictators. As Lenin said, "If we can get them to Socialism, we can get them to Communism."...loose quote. No wonder The Trumpster was met with silence

I don't think it's a lack of courage in the MSM and congress. I think most of the MSM are true believers in socialism, and members of congress believe in power

I am so impressed by Trump and his strength and courage to tell the truth about the kakistocracy. To bad there is no courage in the MSM, or congress in a general sense. The reasonable members are a true minority.
