"Show me some evidence that is what science is based on."
Those topics (GMOs, global warming, and other things people like to make stuff up about) are outside my area. Even if it were inside my area, this is like someone asking me to prove frequency-selective fading is really problem for wide-band OFDM transceivers and it's not just an excuse to promote MIMO. Now I'm almost afraid this notion will stick in the mind of someone who sees the world as all politics.

I accept the science as it is. If scientists of the world are conspiring about global warming, I would be fooled. If big pharma were hiding a cure for cancer, I wouldn't be able to sleuth it out. I probably would be able to figure out if homeopathy or chemtrails were real. I guess if the pro-MIMO conspiracy were true, not all that many people would be able to read the science and figure it out. Although I think I'm going have a nightmare about it: "I've been reading IEEE Transactions on Communications, and this sure sounds fishy to me!!"

If somehow solar fluctuations offset global warming, I'll start to wonder (not really) if there are gods watching over us. The latest evidence shows all fat is not bad for you. Now there's evidence that dietary cholesterol isn't really linked to cardiovascular disease. If LENR turns out to be real and global warming not that costly, I'll feel like I live in a blessed time! Of course on this path, we might find GMOs actually are dangerous and vaccines really do cause illness.
I could imagine all that happening. I can never imagine ESP or homeopathy being real though.

I really think of climate change denial along the lines of demonizing GMOs or vaccines--- and unlike homeopathy, I could imagine by some new evidence upending our understanding of global warming, GMOs, or vaccines. I give them all roughly equal chances. None of this matters, though, to people who start with their chosen answer without regard to the science. People playing politics have to try to work reality to meet their desires, but for scientific people new discoveries are exciting.

The grand solar minimum is climate change and the planet is cooling the evidence is plentiful record ice growth in the Arctic to 1971 levels, record ice growth in Greenland
Unheard of snow in the Sahara desert.
Glaciation in California this summer as little of the 200 inches of record snow last winter melted.
Skiing in California resorts all summer
Global warming rally in Colorado this spring canceled due to a blizzard
4 freak summer snow events in Australia.
One day this summer above 67 degrees in Netherlands no crops grew there.
the coldest summer temp reading in the northern hemisphere at -37 ever. On and on ....you live in Wisconsin it was the coldest August you have expirienced in your life.
This is just the start. The reason is the sun and not man. Co 2 is not a pollutant carbon monoxide is.
Co2 at current levels is .003% of the atmosphere and is plant food. In the way distant past it is known that co2 levels have been higher by 100x.
This solar cycle is 360 year cycle and like clock work it has commenced it is about 36 years of
    Crop failure and dynasty changes.
CG you never present any evidence of your global warming position and I feel like a record that is playing the same same song and you don't hear it.

All of that pseudo-scientific thought process really happens, but then at the end you appear to do the exact same thing by denying climate change.

I truly have no idea what you're talking about. You're saying we're not in a mass extinction event? Are you being clever and going over my head or are you literally asking why I accept modern biological thought of epochs punctuated by mass extinction events?

Since there were 80% less humans to be affected and media that wasn't as biased against them, there was a lot less attention given to flooding - other than saying it isn't smart to build your houses in a flood plain and non-rational references to Bible stories. By the time the news of a heavy rain made it from one coast to the other it wasn't very newsworthy - better to cover the latest state/federal corruption scandal.

So, speak about the reality of that mass extinction for which there is zero evidence of anything mass about an extinction having had or continuing to take place due to human existence.
Since it supposedly has been very large, you should be able to come up with at least a few paragraphs of confirmed evidence for it.

    Thanks Suzanne43,

The desire to Jail skeptics is not new Galeleo Galilini the father of modern Astronemy. He was tried by the Inquisition, found "vehemently suspect of heresy", and forced to recant. He spent the rest of his life under house arrest.

The beneficiaries of this fake science are running
a full press against reality .What a world. The kakistocrats and the paid minions are shameful.

Well done! You very succinctly said what a lot of us think about global warming. It's the religion of the Left. Some day the truth about this hoax will win out. And when it does, I don't think the Lefties will be able to cope. We're going to need an awful lot of safe spaces for them.

Reality is the manipulation of Americans to forfeit our freedom and prosperity.
But by now you can get an idea for the major outlines of an environmental hysteria. The steps are: a) start with assumption that man is “ravaging the Earth,” b) latch onto an unproven scientific hypothesis that fits this preconception, c) extrapolate wildly from half-formed theories and short-term trends to predict a future apocalypse, d) pressure a bunch of people with “Ph.D.” after their names to endorse it so you can say it’s a consensus of experts, e) get the press to broadcast it with even less nuance and get a bunch of Hollywood celebrities who failed Freshman biology to adopt it as their pet cause, then finally f) quietly drop the whole thing when it doesn’t pan out—and move on with undiminished enthusiasm to the next environmental doomsday scenario. Now it is climate change.

"It appears our activities have a great cost on others in the form of global warming"
I am tired of your ignoring the fraud being imposed on US citizens.

”The only hope for the world is to make sure there is not another United States. We can’t let other countries have the same number of cars, the amount of industrialization we have in the US. We have to stop these third World countries right where they are.”

What matters is unaltered evidence but you f..ing idiots want to jail people who are skeptical.
Stalin was right Useful idiots help destroy freedom and prosperity.
    Your climate models are worthless!

"any global warming, whether it be caused by natural forces or human forces, seems to be slow enough as to allow smart people to get out of the way of those forces"
I have no doubt. I'm unclear on the costs of adopting carbon-neutral alternatives and the future costs of increased flooding, storms, etc that you mention. But there's no doubt in my mind smart people can and will do some of both, in ways that will seem amazing and make one of the biggest problems just a few lines in a history book.

"Any evidence for that mass extinction other than from the mouths of the left?"
The left? That's politics. I'm talking about reality.

But that would not crush free market economies and concentrate power in statist liberal looters. We must understand the motives of our enemies foreign and domestic.

I recently had a very edgy conversation with a friend about global warming, global cooling, climate change or whatever the name of the issue is now, he was adamant that the planet was done because "we would not admit man made climate change was real." I asked him what he thought the realistic alternatives were to fossil fuels, and I asked him to explain the ice melt causing the sea to rise panic tactic, taking into account that I spent a lot of time wandering in the mountains of Hudspeth County Texas and the soil content, at about 5000 feet above sea level, had a lot of sea shell content at the surface... he has not responded.
