Even hunter-gatherer tribes understood the concept of limiting hunting because of the effect it has on next year's hunting. When the industrial revolution happened and population exploded, we started having a greater impact. It appears our activities now may have a great cost on others in the form of global warming. If we had to pay for them, the supply curve would shift and we'd more quickly commercialize sustainable energy alternatives. This will happen eventually anyway. It's a question of how much net environmental cost (there will be some costs and some benefits; a net cost) it incurs and if we could really move the needle if we had to pay those costs as the time we use the energy. (Move the needle = come out ahead when you do the amortization of the cost adopting alternative energies sooner with the supposed future savings from reducing climate change.)
In any case, our effect on the planet doesn't matter. What matters is people and their property.
For that, I'm still buying ammo (as you once suggested) one box of bullets a month.
So far it has been only 9mm rounds. A gun dealer agreed with my (still a) theory that if Big Brother stated to confiscate bullets, 9mm pistol rounds would be the last to disappear due to there being so many.
I had parts for an AR15 rifle modified into a carbine loaded with 9mm pistol rounds.
The logical next step for the Dems is to send anyone who disagrees with them to jail or to a concentration camp. But first they would have to disarm us, which is what they are trying to do.
Dean DID say the First Amendment does not protect whatever "hate speech" is to him.
That does kinda leave an awaiting cell door open, though.

People trying to make the world save for their Volvo's. Besides, environmentalists don't care about the planet, not in the abstract they don't. You know what they're interested in? A clean place to live. They're worried that someday in the future they might be inconvenienced. There's nothing wrong with the planet. The people are f#(%ed. The planet isn't going away. We are. Just another evolutionary dead-end.
It will heal itself. It will cleanse itself. The air and water will recover.
It's so true. I don't care about the planet, even if it doesn't cleanse itself and the post-Holocene world is fundamentally different from pre-Holocene. All that matters is people and their property.
