Legal immigrants like Mr. Rodriquez should be praised and embraced.
Respect is earned and deserved by those who show respect for the rule of law. I tire of the media people that keep referencing the words on the tablet held by the statue of liberty. Those words are not our national motto. The statue was a gift from the French during a time when legal immigration was practiced, proper orderly processing was done through places like Ellis Island, we needed people to settle new territories and we had no welfare state.

What? There shouldn't be any "benefits"...the "benefit" is BEING HERE. Some how the idea of freedom has become second to mooching from those who will give give and give endlessly. It sickens me. The come to feed off of our blind compassion. It didn't used to be that way.....

People who have come here thru legal channels from any country should not support the illegal immigrants because it will reduce the available benefits for programs to help them

This is at least the second time I have heard Paul Rodriguez being conservative. A few years ago there was a man-exacerbated drought to protect a two inch minnow. This was wiping out farmers (including a farm owned by Rodriguez), he was on Sean Hannity's program describing the situation.
