Unless of course there is a profit or power motive behind determining a specific outcome. Too much of science, popular anyway, is not empirical and folks like Degrasse have played a role.

What is also interesting is if one analyzes the decay of a comet's orbit, we find that these comets can't be 4.5 billion years old. They are in fact much younger - which also supports the notion that comets have a significantly more mundane origin of comets - our own solar system's planets.

Now we are aware of another source of Ox and H2O that provided our planet with a place to swim, fish and sail...Oh!..and quench our thirst Too.

I've notice recently that in spite of these revelations, the lamestream marches on with big bangs, dark matters, black holes, gravitational models, nuclear suns and deep fried ice creamed comets...I'm not sure they will ever let go.
