It's only a Democrat/Republican battle because a minority of conservatives in the Republican party will no longer go-along-to-get-along with the progressives controlling the Republican party.
If that minority wins, it will begin solving the real problems.

I'm saying the whole Democrat / Republican battle is theatrical. I'm not saying it's scripted. It's just won't solve any problems.

RINOs are the ones who do the "compromising" (using the Democrat definition; give in to everything the Democrats demand with some kind of fig-leaf token granted in return.)

What is PPACA? You mean Obamacare? Sorry, no problem is so serious that I will surrender myself into slavery to solve it.

Other than giving the federal gov't power beyond that granted in the Constitution, exactly what problems does it solve?

That thinking leads to these theatrical battles followed by a compromise agreement to keep gov't spending on punishing evil-doers and "helping" people growing at least as fast as GDP.

Boehner's not the head of the GOP in Congress. The Majority Leader is. Boehner is the Speaker of the House.
