Representative Jose Serrano (D NY 16) calls for a caudillo!
However, 2/3 of each House and 3/4 of all States are needed for ratification.

I say send it to the States first and give people an idea of where to flee from and to.

Hmmm... somebody needs to set up a 12-step program for moochers. So that when people such as this guy hit bottom, someone can invite him to a meeting!

    OK, bad idea.

He's most likely already contaminated... sitting in the cart...waiting for people to give him money for no good reason...... Last time I saw one of them, just a few weeks ago, I rolled my window down and told him Amazon is hiring now.....

Speaking of handing out AS books... The other night my son and I were on our way home and I stopped at a red light and there was this dude sitting crossed legged at the end of the median with a cardboard sign that said, "Homeless and Hungry" I said to my son, "Man I wish I had a copy of Atlas Shrugged with me...I'd toss it into his lap and say, 'hey, while you're sitting there maybe you should read a book'." My son said, "Yeah...you should start carrying copies around." Perhaps I will.....

they actually did. and Reagan was not against it. Clinton was not against it as well. Their argument was the citizen should be able to vote for whom they wanted. But I agree with DK below. it creates power monsters.

and you're right about Roosevelt. along with handouts, some of the most if not the most govt overreach in our country's history against citizens and businesses. all in the name of emergency.

I'm not surprised by this at all. OF COURSE it would be the Demunists to propose the bill. You can imagine the uproar from the communist camp if the repubs proposed this during the Reagan era...In either case, I'm confident Boehner will go along with it...what a stand-up guy.
