    "Come Smell Our Dairy Air"
    Or "Escape from Wisconsin."
I'm sure the Wisconsin Tourism Federation (WTF) could come up with something.

Thanks, will have to get that for my dad. I knew (from him) that Martha was on a silver certificate. Coins and currency have always been a hobby with my dad, he will love the book.

Martha Washington was, and should be if we were to do it again.

Edit: Noticed the word Modern in the article description, so I guess first does fit after all. Still should be Martha, she spent every winter in the revolutionary war with the soldiers and things would have been worse without her organizing to mend clothing, make new clothing and keep the winter camps somewhat cleanly. She travelled every fall and every spring by carriage, 3 months with the troups, 6 months on the road and 3 months at home (approximately). To me that is some real dedication.

    Its heartbreaking to read what's printed on that note;
"This certifies that there have been five silver dollars deposited in the treasury of the united states".
Not anymore! Now we just make it up as we go.

...but the flip side of the Wisconsin coin would contain the motto: "Come Smell Our Dairy Air".
Forward ... And Backward. That seems to be the see-saw routine of Madison.

    Much better.
I am such an admirer of Washington, that even the slightest denigration gets my back up.

The headline is actually a bit misleading - if you go to the link it's the first woman on American currency - not the one dollar bill.

The purpose of the whole question is to get rid of George Washington, I'm sure. George was a towering figure who refused to be made into a king. To this day he stands in the way of kingmakers.

How about momma Obama on the one dollar, it already so worthless it might make good toilet paper.

That was my first thought: If this wasn't fiat currency, then AR would be my first thought. Since it is fiat currency, perhaps Nancy Pelosi would be more fitting.

In a year or two when my Galtish protege gets a 3D printer of metals working, perhaps the trillion dollar Obama coin might be the first thing I print as my protest against the government near-monopoly on R&D dollars.

if I might add a sidelight, K, I would propose that
BHO be put on the trillion $ bill, so that no one would
have to see him in the grocery store. -- j
