There is no neutral. Not even in a car transmission.Anyone claiming neutrality ceases to exist in one state or another.

It's like "Peloton" nobody knows what it means but it has a ring to it that attracts. These guys are geniuses at making up titles the usually do the opposite of what you want to know. Sorta like "The Affordable Care Act." Turned out to be the biggest bait and switch in history.

I remember the week under Obama when net neutrality was signed. The following weekend I experienced some very strange things regarding websites we were using for research. Later that summer I happened to go on a fishing trip with an individual who was very high up in a 3-letter acronym security organization who explained to me very clearly what I had noticed. Let's just say that it was fairly un-American.

Bob Bigelow's inflatable space station designs will definitely benefit from the plummeting launch costs. I suspect he will be announcing a date for the first private space habitat soon. There are a couple of other companies that have already announced plans for private stations, with one using components designed for the Shuttle bay. How credible they are compared to Bigelow (who's already flown two prototypes and attached one to the ISS) I'm not sure.

Its a certainty that there are additional "secret" government military missions that will not be listed as such.
Of course, I hope that taxpayers will benefit, but given the people who control government programs, I have ample doubts that the programs will be in support of the interests of the people. When I see a real program to create a sizable habitat that is not under government/military control, I will stand and applaud the efforts.

Tesla is definitely a ripoff, both of taxpayers and investors. Musk should sell that venture to someone who can either shut it down efficiently or make it work without looting. SpaceX has turned the corner, booking over 300 Falcon 9 & Falcon Heavy flights over the next few years, with the only government money coming from ISS resupply and launching DoD payloads. He's apparently reaching the goal that will make the spacefaring society possible, by continuing to reduce the cost of reaching low Earth orbit. The latest model of the Falcon 9 is aimed at a relaunch schedule of less than 24 hours, and the Big Falcon Rocket is a vehicle that will make building big habitats in orbit and on the Moon and other planets possible. Taxpayers will definitely benefit from Musk's space transportation efforts.

Both are dependent on big government and taxpayers for funding. Does the taxpayer get a share of the profits from Musk's government financed schemes? No, the taxpayers eat any losses and Musk pockets the profits if there are any. He's a looter. Maybe that's why the media fawns over him. (Yes, NASA is a typically inefficient government agency, another type of looter.)

People make a big to-do over how much taxpayer money Musk has made, but the truth is that even with the taxpayer money, he's done a helluvalot more than NASA for a fraction of the price.

Oh you mean the behemoth customers agree with the small, medium, and large customers of the behemoth internet providers. Sure just trust ATT, Comcast, and Charter. They would never do anything to upset their customers.

How many billions will Elon scam from the taxpayer in this boondoggle? (With great respect for Cormier;^) We need another America-sized frontier in space a lot more than space based internet. I can live with ATT. Just start creating a massive habitat.

Elon Musk is working to provide wideband service via satellite everywhere. The way he wants to do this is with a monster constellation of LEO satellites (4600, I think, since a late friend of mine, Len Cormier, had proposed the same idea over a decade ago). Given the huge amount of space junk already out there, I hope his isn't a rash step.

I'm about 35 miles outside the city and we have ATT and Charter, but Charter's service is so pathetic that it isn't a real choice. ATT is as good as it always has been, meaning barely adequate unless you want to throw lots of money at them. I don't expect ATT to do anything that benefits it's small customers. They have proven that repeatedly. I do know people who want net neutrality, and they are not Obama supporters, just customers where there is little or no effective competition.

I'm in flyover country, and we have the choice between AT&T or Cox. No one I know wants net neutrality. Of course that may just be because "that damn socialist Obama" wanted it.

Which regulation is favored by all behemoths? The Obama 2015 version or the reversal of that regulation?

Ironically, it's the "little people" who've benefited from the demand by big users. Thanks to the need to put faster lines in my area, driven by business needs, I can get gigabit service if I want it. Government regulation will just gum up the works.

This Senate maneuver is pandering to the same juvenile "victims" who expect all the "free" stuff that the party is now signing up to. If the Democrats were capable of any honesty, they'd just change the name of the party to the People's Socialist Democracy Party.
